    Sorry OT but just watched news with Sir Roger Bannister carrying torch in Oxford. He was my favourite to light the final flame in the Olympic stadium. It obviously will not be him now so any ideas ?

    It has to be a famous British Olympian (doesnt it?)

    so only 2 people it can be really, Redgrave or Pincent.

    and out of those 2 Redrave for me.

    as an outside bet Daley Thompson.

    I think he said he has already carried it so it won't be him. This rules out Kelly Holmes so I am now going for Daley Thompson !

    Didn't she have a poo whilst in a marathon ! This could rule her out for health and safety reasons. I don't think the TV companies could risk it !

    well must be bloody good if she did.

    11 Marathons 8 wins, 2nd 3rd and 4th in the others. (not Olympic, her Olympic record is pretty crap)

    But if you have to go, you have to go as they say.

    I am running out of Olympians now though, Ben Ainsley maybe, but that pic above of Beckham is looking more and more likely.
