Pardew signed Lambert (I said to my Dad that we should sign him before he actually did), so am very grateful to him for that. I will give Pardew a very good reception when Newcastle come to St. Mary's.
Finally ....we get some decent stuff to chew the fat over .....and what happens. It's mainly people trying to undo the good stuff the club has done........Oh brother what next.......Wenger asking for a refund on Walcott....
Why would he be envious? It's full of corruption, clubs with unsustainable finances and a low standard of football. La Liga and the Bundesliga are both much better.
Totally agree. On the Davies question, am I the only Saints fan to have seen him play for Fulham? Scored their goal when they lost the Europa Final. and played a huge part in getting them there. He is an excellent signing.
Saw him play a few times and was also impressed. Think he'll be a great sin=gning. Exactkly what we need in midfield.
To be honest, my thought was... Uh-oh, here we go again. I'd already had confidence in Nicola, but I was really disappointed as I liked Pardew a lot, and I believed he would get us promoted that next season. He was so Saints orientated too, and would even wear Saints socks on the TV. I remember he was a pundit on a match where Charlton were playing, and the presenter [probably that twerp, Jake 'F1' Humphreys] asked him a question as the Charlton fan. He pulled up his trouser leg, showing the Saints sock, and said, I'm a Saints fan..! I felt that when he was managing Saints, he was passionate and wholehearted about it. Of course, Nigel takes passion and wholeheartedness to an extreme level, but we didn't know that then. Remember though, it was Pardew who first talked about turning the club around and achieving a winning mentality. I trust Nicola totally, to do the right thing, and if he thought that AP had to be sacked then OK. But Pardew will always be a good 'un as far as I'm concerned. Chuffed for him at Newcastle. Of course, we'll have to beat them.
What moany in the Wenger league..? If you compare him to Nigel, then indeed he was. But EVERY manager is a moaner compared to Nigel.
Administrators for Rangers say Green paid for the players as assets of Rangers. If PFA are right and the players were no longer assets to be sold once Rangers folded, then Green has been cheated (even if inadvertantly) by the administrators. This is going to run and run. Let's hope this is sorted out quickly for us and then we can sit back and watch the proverbial hit the fan.
Davis has signed. End of. When a club gets liquidated the contracts revert to the SPL. Rangers have effectively been liquidated but for some reason they don't agree with the rules, which is why they are putting up a fight. If their players have all gone then they have virtually no 'assets'.
Abit like Wenger, Pardew just annoyed me with his interviews etc. Not saying he isn't a good manager, just dislike his personality.
My understanding of TUPE is that it is there to protect employees. However, they are not obligated to accept what is offered them if they don't want it. Maybe Green will end up having to pay them redundancy
Employment laws are clear as regards you and me. Is it different for footballers?? I doubt it somehow because no one could have foreseen the present situation with Rangers. I'm willing to bet that no where in any footballer's contract does it say he can be sold to another team without his agreement and the Newco is effectively a new team.
