I understand that the Honeyball yard strongly fancy the chance of their MARIE DES ANGES 9-2 7.45 Uttoxeter tomorrow. Upped to 2m4f the yard think it will suit although the trade writer seem at odds. It's the first run for the yard having been quite promising for Alison Thorpe. I expect to see some good money for her. An interesting nibble for DUBAI RHYTHM 20-1 3.30 Pontefract as well. Not an obvious one to be gambled as it's 6lbs wrong at the handicap but a couple of interesting facts to back the move up. One, its been dropped to the minimum trip for the first and this really should suit and two, it's the horses first run since being gelded which could also bring about marked improvement.
Evening Stick 4.30 Pontefract VALERY BORZOV 12/1- Really tired so no write up but shaped a lot better than result at Newcastle suggests last time out and will love the ground. If BEACH OF FALESA runs in the 4.35 @ Fairyhouse I think she is a steering job. Looked to have tons in hand tonight but Joseph O'Brien somehow managed to get her beat. Drop to 1m2f will be no problem
Just the one fram me tomorrow 2.15 Wolverhampton ARACHNOPHOBIA probably trade aroond 25 teh 33/1 21lbs lower than his last win here, has a staoting draw in stall 1 and is the lead horse back home at Bosleys hame. If he cana get oot quick anuf he'll a take soma stopping
Joseph O'Brien you total @$£%&*****%£@%&*&^****%$. Don't think she'll run in it RV. Stick - I've not heard anything as of yet but will be on.
Morning, all. If asked to describe today’s racing in 3 words I would respond ‘more than satisfactory’. And on top on that I’ll recommend this dynamic duo to the old regular readers: Yours Ever (3.15 Wolverhampton) – what a lovely name for a filly by the way. This one made her seasonal return last week and did so highly creditably as she finished a very nice 2nd at Kempton Park, beaten just a neck. Races once again here off 71 and with that run behind her Yours Ever is going to be very hard to beat this afternoon, methinks. Furthermore, she receives weight from all her rivals, the extra furlong that she races over today should be a benefit and long-term Yours Ever could be better than this class. Law of the Range (4.00 Pontefract) – I see that this Listed heat is sponsored by ‘Arkle Finance’ – surely Himself is not involved...is he?!? Anyway, Law of the Range won this heat a year ago and I’m going to predict that she will do the same this afternoon. I thought that the mare was excellent first time up, this term, when 2nd in this grade at Kempton Park – in fact only an inspired ride from ‘King’ Kieren prevented her from winning. Since that performance she has run with credit in a higher grade and wasn’t beaten far at either The Curragh or old Royal Ascot. Back to a lower level today I really can’t see beyond Law of the Range here in a race where she is clear on official ratings. My regular readers may detect that I am somewhat bullish re this pair and may I knowingly nod that the double is currently paying 13/1.
Not had a chance to look in much detail today so stolen a few of your tips i'm afraid. My very quick picks for today all from Pontefract 2:30 - Slipstream Angel 5/2 - Ran very well on heavy ground first time out, extra furlong should suit, Hanagan onboard. But you lot fancy 3 others in that race if i remember correctly? Maybe just a small punt on that one for me then! 3:00 - Honoured EW 9/1 - With the 7lb claim this horse is receiving masses of weight from the field, kept on over 1m on soft ground last time out behind a former 80+ rated horse well in the handicap in vito volterra, step up to 1m2f will suit i feel. 4:30 - Bouncy Bouncy EW 15/2 - Slow into stride last time out and ran on well over C&D, should do better if settling quicker, this a weaker race I feel.
Afternoon all, as the forecast for the next few weeks looks incredibly gloomy it would appear we are in the hands of the trusted AW surface for the forseable future, todays sole card is at Wolverhampton, however, we do have a turf card over the jumps tonight. One that has caught my eye in the 2.15 Wolverhampton is from the in form Ruth Carr yard (with no fewer than 3 winners and 6 places in the last week from her 11 runners) Spanish Acclaim 20/1 (EW) who was available at 33/1 this morning. Formerly with Andrew Balding he is one i have followed this season and isnt far away from winning a race of this calibre, drops back to the minimum distance which is where his best form is at and runs off a very very attractive mark of 53, having competed im much better company than this today off a mark as high as 74, albeit on turf. Only two runs on an artificial surface, however, the one run that catches my eye was at Lingfield over 8f where he blased a trail for nearly 6f and should be at his best today at the minimum distance and from a stable bang in form and who know how to produce a big priced winner or two.
In the 2.45 Hinton Admiral 10/1 (EW) has lately saved his best for Wolverhampton with his last two wins coming here off a 2lb higher mark in races not to disimilar than todays, both at very short prices of 2/1 and 15/8 favourite. I am therefore, very surpised to see him at double figure odds, unless the other Charlie Dore runner with Jamie Spencer on board is the stable fancy, either way im having a small EW gamble on what looks like a massive price for a horse who saves his best for events of this nature off a similar mark.
KAHSABELLE. 8.15 Uttoxeter is worth a small interest.promising last run over hurdles and a recent spin onthe level should have him spot on for this.
Waabel has a really good record around Wolverhampton from his 4 runs. One win and three placed efforts. Willie Twister rides him today and i've noticed trainers are using him quite frequently when they've got a horse with a chance. At 9/1 it looked like quite a decent little bet so i've had a pop.
lucky e/w 15 @ wolves this afters along with e/w accy 12/1*- Chjimes 14:45 Wolverhampton 9/1*- Arctic Galaxy 15:45 Wolverhampton 16/1*- Dougie Boy 16:15 Wolverhampton 6/1*- Jonnie Skull NAP 17:45 Wolverhampton
3.15 Wolverhampton really like the favourite here Venegazzau 11/4, who won well here LTO over C&D when fitted with a visor for the first time, he is upped 6lbs here and could be good enough to carry on progressing for a stable that is in form, however, at a far bigger price is another C&D winner is Sir Boss 22/1 (EW) who has won here off a mark 5lb higher in better company also with Tom Queally on board.
Hinton Admiral pulled out lame before start, so quickly on the gambled favourite Restless Bay...................priceless
