If we really did miss out on Ward because he wanted Palace over Leeds then why has Warnock not used the £400k it would have cost to bring the player to Elland Road on one of his other targets - Varney, Norris, Kenny and Peltier?

Because we are are completely skint at moment. Lille or no money coming in with I suspect large numbers of fans holding back their cash, waiting for the buyout. Problem for us dealing with Portsmouth at the moment is they require all money up front whereas solvent clubs get it in instalments. It gives an interesting insight to where we'd have been if there was no buyout this summer
Ken Bates made it clear months ago Warnock can bring in his own players provided you off load some of your old dross first and get them off the payroll, unfortunately they are all dross and are only likely to go to lower league clubs, which means they have to take big pay cuts which they are not going to accept when they can hang around your place for a couple of years what ever is left on their contracts and earn twice as much money, only your top players are likely to move on CATCH 22
Did you think Ken was going to allow Warnock to sell Clayton and with that Dosh bring in 3 players that increases the squad and increases the pay roll,,,, We wanted Malone from Bournemouth we tried to swap him for Mcquoid but Bournemouth could not match Maquoids wage demands therefore we had to pay cash on top enough to cover Mcquoids extra wage demands for the lengh of his Bournemouth contract Bournemouth were happy we were happy deal was done, Can you imagine Ken Bates doing that NAH, NOR CAN I
We already lost O'Dea, Robinson, Mikka, Parker and Forrsell, sold Clayton so a total of 6 and we have brought in 3 so far so yes I can't see a problem otherwise Warnock would not have sold Clayton, he wasn't under pressure to sell and the lad wanted to stay.
If i remember rightly and i may be wrong Ken wanted your squad reduced from 27 to 21 thats 6 players moved so far you have managed 3 Get rid of another 4 and you can bring 1 in you cant sell 1 and bring in 3,,,, Ken wont allow it im sure warnock has a game plan but it aint going to happen overnite
Although Ken is a complete and utter ****er he won't want to see his money egg drop down a division. Even he must realise if the season were to start tomorrow Leeds would be in a relegation dog fight with the squad as it stands.
Ristac We all know how dear old Ken works He was never going to allow warnock to bring in players early and pay 3 months wages with no return,(close season) you may now find the closer the start of the season gets that things will start to move
Last close season Kenny Jackett had his targets but would not buy them early to avoid paying players to be on holiday by the time the season was ready to start all them targets were snapped up by other clubs, this season he bought them early we have been in pre-season training now for 2 weeks already getting them fit and allowing the players to gel..im sure KJ will still add to the team as and when necessary and 1 at a time,,WE HAVE LEARNED FROM LAST SEASON, KB only worries about the money but im sure Warnock has spoken to his targets and lined them up to join but only when the boss gives the green light.. BE PATIENT...
Basically what that means is!! while we are up there fighting for promotion you might have a team if your lucky that gels by Christmas. just in time for your annual free fall and if your really lucky might be good enough to avoid relegation i doubt it but just maybe
