but you included Flamini who is was only really a starter in one season, we wanted to get rid of Adebayor and Toure because of the reasons I have previously mentioned. I am not trying to wum you my point is merely that it is unfair to say Arsenal are a selling club when the same points can be said about Spurs as has been shown with your players who at the time were the best players in your team.

Flamini was a player you didn't want to lose, you can't say the same of the Spurs players you listed. Walker has only had one season of regular football with us yet he'd be a big loss, as would Kaboul who wasn't a regular starter until last season. Adebayor forced his way out although you do have a point about Toure, I'm not that familiar with what went on there at the time.

Arsenal fans were absolutely furious when Flamini left and have booed him ever since, that's not the reaction you give to someone who you let leave willingly.

Yes we were as fans but Wenger had a replacement in Song which the fans did not know about, had we seen his replacement I can assure you we would not have been so annoyed.

and your point being? Flamini was a first choice starter that season and Song was still very young, the next 2 seasons Song was far more involved and has since made that role his

    Nelsen - 8 games
    Saha - 12 games
    Kranjcar - 18 games
    Corluka - 8 games

Compare these stats to other players in these positions:
    Kaboul - 41 games/King - 23 games/Gallas - 18 games/Dawson - 13 games
    Adebayor - 37 games/Van Der Vaart - 39 games/Defoe - 38 games/Pavlyuchenko - 14 games
    Lennon - 32 games
    Walker - 47 games

Congratulations, your description of that list as "first team players" got its ass kicked by a simple Wikipedia search...

You said that Arsenal fans hadn't had an opportunity to see his replacement. You clearly had.
Had you claimed that you didn't realise that Song was going to be given the chance to replace Flamini and that he'd done a good job of it, then you might have had a point.

Wenger wanted Flamini to stay and help to bring Song through.
He left for a better offer and arguably a better club, picking up a title in the process.

What a stupid comment,First team includes more than 11 players <doh> it can include players who occupy the same position, its not based on the amount of games they have played but if they Have been selected as part of you first team by your Manager

Spurs still include Ryan Nelson's picture as part of your first team:http://www.tottenhamhotspur.com/spurs/Team/first-team-profiles.page?

The other players I mentioned were on it but have been removed due to the fact they were sold or released.

Your logic of first team got its ass kicked by your on spud website <laugh>

what on earth are you talking about, we didnt have the opportunity to see Song as a replacement as he was on loan at Charlton and was then given a run of games as a centreback for us Flamini left in the 2007-2008 period and 2008-2009 Song began playing for us more regularly and was playing as the DM position your argument makes no sense as many saw song as a Centreback, only Wenger knows what positions he wants a player to play, we as fans did not know this.

Sorry, but your logic is truly awful. You are STILL claiming that selling bit-part players and releasing players (by choice, not selling for money) is an argument for us being a selling club.

Flamini, Nasri, Fabregas, RVP - Arsenal attempted to get them all to stay.
Kranjcar, Saha, Nelson, Corluka - Spurs willingly let them go.

You are comparing apples to yoghurt.

The comparisons between the Arsenal players metioned are more akin to Berba, Carrick, Sol etc. But they happened quite a long time ago in football terms. Show me an example of Spurs being a selling club from the last 4 years. Go on, do it.

And this is the difference between the players Arsenal have sold and the players Spurs have sold...

Arsenal have sold key members of your 1st XI. (Vieira, Henry, Cole, Flamini, Gilberto, Clichy, Fabregas, Nasri, Toure, Hleb, Adebayor)
Spurs have sold/released fringe players in the 1st team squad. (Corluka, Kranjcar, O'Hara, Pavlyuchenko, Keane, Palacios, Zokora Hutton etc.)

In recent years the only players we have sold who had, the previous year, been 1st choice players, are Carrick, Berbatov and Crouch. Of those only Berbatov and Carrick were reluctant sales.

    Flaws with your argument:
    * Nelsen was on a six-month contract
    * Saha was on a six-month contract
    * Nelsen was our fifth-choice centre back, behind Kaboul, King, Gallas and Dawson
    * Saha was behind Adebayor, van Der Vaart and Defoe in the pecking order
    * Nelsen was only signed because of Dawson's long-term injury and Caulker being on loan to Swansea
    * Saha was signed as a short-term stop-gap after Pavlyuchenko left
    * Corluka spent half the season out on loan to Bayer Leverkusen

You almost, almost, had a point by saying it isn't based on the amount of games they play - it's based on whether they;re seen as an integral member of the first team squad, which you cannot say for Saha and Nelsen. Why? Because their contracts were only until the end of the season, and weren't renewed.

Ryan Nelsen signed for QPR three weeks ago...
    http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2012/jun/18/qpr-andrew-johnson-ryan-nelsen

So the fact Nelsen is listed as a player on QPR's website means nothing?

Could you at least attempt to find a little consistency, Altbouli?

Apparently Song an unknown despite playing 15 games and Fryers isn't going to be a first team player, because he's not in the starting XI.
This is contrasted with Nelsen, Kranjcar and Corluka, who apparently were first team players, despite not being in the first XI and who played less than Song did.
