He would be a great signing. I just think it would be highly unlikely.

I have never seen him play, but I trust your assessment <ok>

Off topic slightly, who would click on an ad which says "want to meet girls?" when the website is called something like "local slags"? Daylight masturbators aren't famed for their ability to feel shame, but they surely have more class than that?

Aye, this. And not for the figure quoted recently, I forget what, but it was very low.

I know Juve have a long standing interest in the lad and they looked all set to pay 15-18m last year. I think he chose to stay because of what was happening there with the Qatari money. The reality is if he is now available for less then Juve and a host of other giants would be interested. That would signal the end of any hope of us signing him.

Would be good signing, can play LB or CB but I think if the Debuchy move goes through though this is a non starter.

he is amazing on Football Manager and them boys are rarely wrong about players. But in all seriousness I haven't ever seen him play, however I've been told that he sometimes loses concentration, however normally recovers because he is such an athlete. Sounds like if you stick him next to a good organiser (Colo) he could be a good signing. Wouldn't want to spend too much on him as I don't think he would offer much more than Taylor, we're better off spending the money on Debuchy.

Always been really good on football manager and signed him for really good teams in the past.

Do we need him? We already have a top class right back in Santon. I'd prefer we got a left back and centre back before a right back.

Well i was thinking of keeping Santon at LB where he did a good job last year. If we signed Sakho I think it would be primarily to play CB, i don't know how comfortable he is on the left. Say we kept Santon at Left back the weak link in our defence would be Simpson at Right back. I am quite happy to have a CB pairing of Taylor & Colo, we just need better depth at the position. So imo signing Debuchy would improve our back 4 more than signing Sakho

We need another quality fullback. Simple as.

But Sakho is a CB, and we'll buy him to play CB.

i know he would be to play at CB. And I know that Taylor is injury prone so we need decent cover, I just feel we could pick-up a CB as cover who will do a decent job rather than shelling out a fortune on a quality back-up that might not see the field very often (If Taylor can stay healthy).

He did do well at left back but at the end of the day he's a right back playing left back and only operates at about 80% in his secondary position. Comments from Santon and Pardew suggest they know he is a right back too. I've always assumed they will shift him at some stage as it makes no sense to play him out of position permanently. I think Debuchy is a cracking player, but I have equally as much confidence in Santon as a right full back to be honest. I'd prefer we signed a natural left back as opposed to Debuchy so we have a natural balance. Santon made a few mistakes defensively (mainly positional) and I think they were down to playing on his "wrong" side as such. I'm not convinced we need a Sakho or Douglas type centre back. I think we need someone solid who is going to accept being 2nd fiddle to Tayls and Colo. Bascially a step up from Williamson, probably a similar level to Tayls to get that competitive edge and in case his injury troubles return again.

Still need another CB, who plays with Williamson if Coloccini and Taylor got injured, remember Norwich away last season.
