I think we should remember the wise words of Father Christmas: "Let he without sin, cast the first stone."
The only possible punishment is to be strait jacketed and eyes wide open with matches watching endless repeats of Andy Murrays glorious failures.
What would put you off drink driving? From what can be gleaned you are in for a fine of a few hundred quid and anywhere from a one to two year ban. Question is, are you going to carry on driving regardless of the ban? Are you still going to drink and drive when you get your licence back? Not much excuse for D&D in the first place, there has been enough information over the years for me to think that there are drivers who simply don't give a feck and only regret it when caught. The "I was hung over from the previous day" and "I ate a sherry trifle that put me over the limit" excuses are often used but it isn't exactly rocket science, don't drive if you have been drinking. It's a laugh and a joke to some but try sitting across the dock from a mum or dad who's kids you killed knowing that all you are going to get is a fine and a ban, probably not much more than community service or a suspended sentence on top. I have no idea why it isn't an automatic manslaughter case when D&D results in a fatality.
To be honest Grove Ranger, I think most people who do DD regret it whether anyone gets hurt or not. I certainly did. But everybody make mistakes. As long as no one gets hurt, and the offender learns from their experience, then I say forgive and forget.
I did it once in my yoof. I'll admit there's been once or twice since when I've thought that perhaps I shouldn't be driving. Two glasses of wine with dinner, for example. It's not something anybody with any sense should be doing. It's easy not to. If ye've got the motor, don't drink, or, leave your motor where it is and take a taxi home.
Real men drink red wine and eat red meat whilst swinging their goblets of wine from side to side and singing traditional male songs like Katy Perry's "part of me"
No true I know a wee fanny that needs a slap for consistently drink driving or driving under the influence of drugs. Hes the sort of **** you will hear about running down a 6 year old in papers. If you ended up drink driving you obviously can't handle your alcohol because clearly common sense has ****ing left you.
I am all for name & shame, but if this is in the local rag in a few weeks time ER -----Not a fu*ken word
I would have no qualms whatsoever of squealing the **** up to the polis. I would take great pleasure in telling him I did it, too.
Hes no any pal of mine just some wee **** I know I'm no entirely sure but I think he might've got caught a wee while back anyway. Wee bawbag that he is.
It's alright, I'm no coppers nark. I also can't read the paper properly when I' drinking and driving and sniffing coke.
That's one bloke MD. And if your common sense doesn't leave you when you drink, you're obviously not drinking much. Who hasn't done something daft when they've had a drink?
