Just wondering what new rules you would like to see implemented for next season. I read an article yesterday where is stated that De Jong put newcastle player out for most of season with broken leg, no game ban Rooney using foul language 2 game ban Torres dive (against Moan U after being fouled) nothing. personally, what I would like to see is 1) If a player breaks another player's leg, or puts them out for a period of time, then they themselves are banned until the injured player returns 2) diving - immediate yellow card and one game ban. However, this can be reviewed if ref makes a bad call and reviewed after game if ref misses. 3) when ref makes a decision that is unpopular, and appears to get bullied buy whil team - immediate yellow card for all that moan. However, captain should retain the right to speak to ref. 4) Offside - lets be honest - you are either offside. If you are in the pitch then you are intereferring. and for next season only: QPR can have a 5 goal lead against Moan U, Citeh, Arsenal, Spuds, Liverpooool and they are banned from attacking our goal for 45 minutes. Chelsea have to play a maximum of 9 English players against us. interesting to know your thoughts
Point 1- Can't agree to be honest. Some broken leg tackles are innocuous whilst some terrible tackles don't cause injury at all. What if the injured player has to retire? Does he get banned forever? 2- I sort of agree. Personally I think the ref should give no card at the time as it's a very subjective issue and we don't want players sent off when they didn't actually dive because refs only get one look at it. However, I think potential dives could be reviewed and then those players dealth with with a one game ban and more for repeat offenders. It would soon stop. 3- agree entirely. There's no need for anyone but the captain and the player in question to speak to the ref. 4- spot on, if it ain't broke... For me, I'd scrap the fourth official because they're just an annoyance stopping managers standing up or leaving their dugout and have them as a video ref. One appeal per team per game for any incident you like. If your appeal isn't successful you've used it up and can't appeal future decisions.
Watford - your first point is one which I did not consider. I was thinking more along he lines of a deliberate challenge, in which case Keane would have been banned for his challenge on Alfr Inge Harland (apologies if name spelt wrong). And your point 2....has certainly made me quesion my questions!! Will be interesing to see what others make of this.
Deemed to deny a goal scoring opportuinity , penalty and yellow, for fouls inside or outside the box. Too many games get ruined by reds, and they get their goal anyway.
Referees and linespeople to be paid fees that reflect the levels of abuse they receive from all quarters (every numpty in the land) AND bonuses from an independent panel for sound (Ferguson-proof) decision making. Put an end to players winding them up with who makes money and who don't. NB - I'm not a ref... but c'mon, pay peanuts, you get monkeys - we all know that and then we blast them for it!
OK.... 1. Goal Line Technology. You can't tell me that this isn't possible any more - they do it in just about every other sport. Get it sorted. 2. Protection for Referees. We complain about the poor decisions they make, but don't consider the pressure they are under from players, managers and fans to 'do the right thing' by certain clubs all the time. I'm thinking particularly about Fergie because he's the most outspoken one, but this whole habit these days of players surrounding the referee is disgraceful and needs stopping. So I reckon only the Captain and the player involved in an incident can approach the referee, and anyone else with an opinion that tries to get involved gets an immediate yellow. Rugby Union has it right - we need to learn from them in this one. 3. Diving. Would need to be solved in conjunction with video evidence (see above discussions on this point), but diving to win a penalty could easily have the same effect on results as a professional foul, and should be punished as such. 4. Offside. Simplify it - offside is offside, none of this 'active' and 'inactive' rubbish. That actually goes for a lot of rules. The grey areas where the referee has to decide (for example) whether a player was active or inactive, cause problems for the ref and the players, who basically don't know the set of disciplinary guidelines they will be subject to until the first foul is called. Some refs are harsher than others, some interpret the rules in a different way, and it doesn't help anyone. 5. In the same manner. Two-footed challenges should be straight red cards, irrespective of intent and impact. I don't care whether you were aiming for the ball, or whether the tackle was so bad that you actually missed the player and just looked like a twonk - if you go in with studs showing and both feet of the ground, you have to go. It's something that needs erasing from our game. Don't leave the ref to decide what the player 'intended'. 6. Luis Suarez and the 'handball' that knocked Ghana out of the World Cup. Best example of what I mean with this one. deliberate handball that clearly prevents a goal in this manner - send the man off AND award the goal. I know most people would score the penalty, but the sight of the little **** celebrating on the touchline when Gyan missed the spot kick still sticks in my throat even a year on.
This Thread is strange ok new roles.... 1)Chelsea players must wear sumo suits under thier kits when we play them 2)Rooney should be forced to play bare footed so ****tu can stamp on his toes... 3)Crouch is not allowed to score against us 4)All refs should have the chance to Review things they have missed during a game a decide a punishment... 5)If a player gets away with what should be a red card and then scores-after review the ref has the chance to tke the goal away. 6)Every team should have cheer leaders 7)half time entertainment should be 15 mins of stand up Comedy- fans will have the chance to vote on three stand ups before the game. 8)If scores reamin 0-0 at full time...Sudden death penalties should be introduced.... 9)Fernando torres and Andy Caroll should be made to shave each other hair off. 10)Gloves should be Banned (except for adels)
For denying a goal scoring opportunity, yellow and a pen, rather than red and free kick. Both teams would be happier with that.
What about restricting a team to one substitute per game while the manager serves his touchline ban and the same punishment if a player has done something that is deemed harsh enough to miss games .i.e. dangerous tackles, violent conduct, spitting in faces, abusing referees.... etc If a team had two consecutive red cards that’s 6 games where they are only allowed one sub, I think that puts a lot of pressure on the managers team selection plus having to pay wages to players through no fault of their own cannot contribute to the game. Another change I am in favour is Sin Binning, 15 mins to start with, to replace the second yellow card where it is for something silly like time wasteing or taking your shirt off after scoring. Obviously if you make two bad tackles it is a sending off.
sin bin a v good idea. I would like to put this to the test with North's two friends above!! and longer than 15 mins!!
The penalty box is called the penalty box for a reason, if an offence is committed INSIDE it, its a penalty, NOT outside
No fines for fielding a so called "under strength side" like Wolves & Blackpool have unless it can be proved by losing by 5 goals or more. I find this a ridiculous rule especially as the performances were very good and whatââ¬â¢s the point of having a squad if you can't utilise it.
