Bloody saints. Bloody football. Just when you start to believe and have confidence, they kick you in the nuts. Been here too many times with this club, are we always destined to be nearly men and torture our fans as much as possible?

Or can we finally just get the job done?

I hope so, but feel negative this morning.

I just pray our hiccup is now out the way...

It's a blip. We lost at Walsall and won the next 4 games. We still have it in our hands, so we don't have to start the race again. Roll on Saturday. COYR

CBK - That's the fun of League One promotion place! We are Southampton not Barcelona...we have been on fire of late of it was due. This defeat could bring us back down to earth and re-focus/re-group going into this weekend.

Have a bit of faith , just one game. We are still 2nd with a game in hand. So we are still in control!

Our game in hand is the 2nd to last game of the season, away, at a club that we really should beat who have very limited resources (like Rochdale, Walsall, Hartlepool, Swindon, Tranmere and Carlisle.... hmmmm)

Faith has nothing to do with it. It's all about how those footballers play a game of football and how the manager sends them out to do it.

We need to take these games by the scruff of the neck from the first minute. I think in all the games above I've mentioned, we've started slowly, handed confidence to the home side and then struggled to get going.

It is in our hands... and that's almost what worries me the most.

The worrying thing about last night was the combination of inability to pass, the lack of movement at set pieces and the general lack of urgency. Rochdale clearly gave 110% to our 75%. All teams can lose but the way you lose matters.
The fans turned up but the players didn't

I'm pissed. I knew we were going to lose as we are a complacent team. Adkins needs ****ing get in there and get them motivated.

    tough place to go............

Reading some of the reports from the ehco i see you played a diamond formation in midfield.................if you have wingers out injured why does he not play the ones he brought in........
Also is it LB court thing today?

Scrap the diamond and stick to the 4-4-2 and we'll be fine. It's Saints , we never do things easy - it pisses us all off but it makes it even more special at the end when we finally cross the line.

This diamond formation is good against teams that actually try and play football or can play decent football. With some of the smaller grounds in this league I really cannot see how we can play that formation with success all the time. As the full backs cannot actually get past a crowded midfield. I still see Hammond as a weakness in the middle of the park he for me at least has not moved forward this season. JMO for what it is worth............

Hammond, 5 assists and 4 goals. Better stats than any of our other central midfielders.

Granted CBK but he is still the one player that loses or gives possession away the most. From the position he is playing that is not the greatest of statistics......

The diamond doesn't work when you have someone like Guly who isn't a winger trying to play there , the full-backs get ripped to shreds and are so exposed. I know Lallana and Chamberlain have been out but Forte is quick and Dickson has proven he can provide the service out wide - there's your solution.

The CM two have to be so much more positive instead of playing it backwards and sideways constantly. It's an issue that needs to be resolved in the summer with a Champ/Prem quality Centre-Midfielder needs to be brought in.
