Not that i'm having a dig at Tickler, but this was my immediate thought when we signed Amos. I could have never seen Man U letting him out to be a bench warmer. In a way it's a shame as I liked how passionate Vito was about coming to us and how much he'd improve if he was with us playing first team football. However Amos seems to be highly thought of and could well be a great loan (just a shame we won't get him on a permanent either, if he's that well thought of).
Amos is older than De Gea I believe so the chances of him being United's number 1 are quite slim I would have thought?
As I said regularly late last season he had signed a pre contract but I just assumed this was dead and buried after Nickgate (you can get out of pre-contracts). Glad he's apparently on board though cos he's meant to be pretty handy. Oh, and I dont get info in the closed season so I genuinely dont know either was if this is true or not.
Have not seen either Amos or Jakupovic play, but going on word say would seem OK. Will wait for the statement on the Jakupovic signing though. Seems strange he at Ipswich and not on his way to Portugal. Could all just be a cunning plan, leak this just prior to going into discussion with Arsenal about Mannone. That way we not going into it in a position of weakness.
Who the hell is leaking it though?. Other than Steve Bruce, I can't see any other potential source given the timings.

I'm not sure why everyone is so convinced that Amos will be first choice simply because of the loan fee. Firstly, the fact that we've been asked for a fee is quite ridiculous considering he was never going to even make the bench at Utd. If anything, we're doing them a favour by giving him football, so why we're paying almost as much as we did for the permanent signing of Chester is beyond me. Secondly, as we've paid that fee, I'd be pretty pissed if SAF ever had the audacity to complain if Jakupovic was getting more game time than Amos. And finally, we supposedly paid a significant loan fee for Gulacsi last season.. and look how that turned out. If Vito doesn't get any takers, we might snap him up next summer - he'll be approaching the final year of his contract, (finally) Amos will be gone and Eldin will also only have 12 months left.
I just can't wait for the season to start again but I am not one for all the speculation about which player we might get so can someone please update me on where we are now. Which new players are definitely on board apart from the two goalkeepers.
