I have never posted on the the Charlton life site before and thought I would experiment with a visit and see how long it took before I got banned. Two weeks. That's all it took. I was not controversial nor rude but challenged a few posters with a view and backed that view with facts and solid argument. In doing so it was reminded me of the atitude from the film the 'village'or the pub in 'an American werewolf in London' they don't take kindly to strangers or anyone that disagrees with the 'Henry my poo don't stink Irvine'. I was unable to register as 'typical' so i took the pseudonim 'browntrousers' i was made to feel like Michael Jackson at a crèche such was the level of suspicion and paranoia. Anyone that takes a diffrent view is attacked by one of the loyal flying monkeys whose anuses you can actually hear twitching in defence of their leader. Now I knew that tosser years ago and always found him to be a smug insufferable pantsniffer but generally harmless. He now runs that site like a dictatorship. It has no creditbility left. That site is now a single view, orchistrated and censored to fit the party line. It does the club and our reputation as 'trainspotting' cardigan wearers well earned.

    It's not 606 for me.

Not 606 for me too. I've had a couple of ganders at CL and can't understand why it's so popular. According to sum on ere you're stupid if you don't take CL as a source of reliable information!

Charlton Life sources are about as reliable as the quality of the DVDs you are sold by the men outside ASDA in Charlton.

When it ws announced that 606 was jacking it in, I lurked on the site for a couple of days and found it dreadfully inward looking.

Here, we can not only communicate with each other but with equally dedicated fans of stacks of other clubs.

Also, IMO any site that allows the words of that disgusting song about Kevin Lisbie to sit on it without challenge isn't worth a light.

Great post Typs, as most know, I have lost my tenureship on CL by suggesting we should move to the new stadium at the Dome. If Stalin was still around , this would have been his baby.
Henry Irving needs a good invasion.

I still can't believe some of the stories being banded about which all seem to stem from CL - that places needs closing down or legal action taken against the offending posters over there circulating all these bad rumours if that's all they end up as.

Henry Irving is alright I think.

But there is a complete muppet on there, can't remember the name, who posts a load of drivel personally attacking anyone and everyone for having the gumption to disagree. Every time I go on I see more aggressive garbage from him/her.

This is why I am not convinced by all these rumours about administration. Would you trust at board level Henry Irvine or Airman Brown? Both have a reputation for being jumped up, puddle jumpers who can't keep a secret safe, using their default position at the club as a position of power rather than privilege. Both use the club to further their own rather petty existence and egos. The sooner they both stop sniffing each others anuses and realised the club does not belong to them or their band of sycophantic greasy monkeys the better.

I do not know what is happening at the club but I would guess that the board would not trust those two with anything more than stamp licking and tea making. If it was these two that have started these rumours then surely they have compromised the clubs financial position and made us less attractive to a buyer. There are rules aginst this sort of thing and it is certainly a dismissal event if not criminal.Surely they would not do this. I am not sure where this rumour started but when the dust settles the club should trace it back to the grass or grasses.

This club needs someone at fan level the board can trust to communicate truthfully and honestly inform down from boad level to the terrace. I think CL cannot be trusted anymore.

Hard to disagree with the general point typical makes.

Makes the club less attractive to buyers, sponsors, advertisers and fans. If I was to do that to the customers in my job, I would expect to be fired by now. Realpolitik probably dictates that he won't be fired as that would send out worse signals.

If I was at board level, I would deliberately feed him incorrect information

I was thinking the same thing actually. Feed them rubbish, test their loyalty and then see where their priorities are. Are they club men who can be trusted with information. Or more obsessed with telling tales outside school to their mates to make them look important and powerful.

Anyhoo. I would be sacking the pair of them the moment they turn up late for work or if a staple should go missing.

Not sure about this. They could have used something much less important to do that, if they so wished.

Strange thing about it is that sacking someone for leaking corporate information would actually make the situation look worse.

Could be, I don't know. The supporters trust talk worries me more than the supposed financial woes

Typical - you made over 60 posts, not a single one Charlton related, and everyone trying to either take the piss or get a reaction.

Addick Stu, you said so yourself on here, your whole intention of posting on CL was to try and wind people up.

Don't know either of you, but with the whole internet to play eith, you want to spend.your time winding up people who support the same team as you, just because they use another forum ?

    Pathetic.

As for the others, sh*tting on your own. Nice thread.

Oh dear. Did the wicked witch send you over?

It's not really helpful to respond. Other than to say I won another bet.

So fly back my pretty fly ha ha ha ha.

Typical - I think you're completely off the mark here.

CL has its flaws, but on the whole I think it's a fantastic site. There are lots of posters who have genuine insider knowledge, such as Airman Brown (Rick Everitt), and I'm glad that they have chosen to communicate with the fans in this way.

AFKA does a great job moderating it too, calling it a dictatorship is ridiculous. There is always room for opposing POVs, as long as they're backed up with evidence and don't descend into name-calling.

Both these forums are invaluable for my fix of Charlton-related news/gossip/humour every day. Why slag one of them off?

Whoa there. I think the point being that afka two (posts in a year). Is not telling the whole story here. I was accused of being someone else, trying to wind up posters etc. I stood my own corner on two matters that i checked my facts on and the entire Amish village turned on me. Just because Henry got all upset with me and he got menstruel.

Has there been any cafc news that I could comment on I would have. Buggers did not give me a chance.

I consider the CL lot to be a bunch of carpet-bagging arsecakes and I wouldn't wash my shoes in their piss but in this instance, finally, weeks after the club seemingly imploded, they are at least trying to do something with Supporters Trust meetings etc, you lot on not606 will sadly probably go down in history as the people who stood by and watched as others tried to save the club, the same way a lot of the official Supporters Club dolts did when we were punted to Selhurst, sure maybe you are just being hopeful, maybe you don't know any better, but as with the Selhurst denialists that smell will never leave, you will always be regarded as that, the Vichy element of Charlton fans and that will never be forgotten I'm afraid, but there is still time to change, turning up at the Beehive, one or two of you, on Tuesday would be a good start imho.
