I know most of you want to pretend everything is fine, but I feel this invite should be on all Charlton forums as the more people who turn up the better, otherwise it will just be the infamous CL clique running things, thIs Tuesday at 7.30pm there is a meeting in the back room of the Beehive pub in Eltham to discuss the current situation and the setting up of a Supporters Trust to pick up the pieces if the club goes under, all are welcome, even ostriches!

The back room??? If you were serious about this, you could have hired the front room.

Thanks for the invite but I think I'm washing my hair that night.

Didn't this happen before and come to nowt ? Back when the club was last about to hit crisis, so about three years ago

No problem with a Supporters' Trust in general, but reckon it would be more successful if it was something that existed outside of 'crisis times'.

Nothing to do with me Alex, just spreading the word, your hair must be something special if it matters more to you than trying to stop Charlton going out of business, is it luscious and soft, if it's that special I'd like to touch it some time, as long as you mean the hair on your head, I'm not gay lol!

The takeover meant it was't needed last time afaik, I think the ultimate aim would be to take over the club to stop the cycle of administration threats of being a rich man's plaything, more and more clubs are owned by supporters trusts these days, albeit usually a couple of rungs lower down the league ladder.

I think we ought to take stock. I'm not one for burning down houses and witch hunting on an unfounded rumour from a site where the lead members attend cardigan shows.

    Let's wait and see.

Nope. The trust talk happened and fizzled out at least a year and a half before the takeover. <ok>

On the 15th position thread, people are expecting playoffs in the Championship, now people are talking about copying the business model of Exeter City. It seems very confusing.

Extremely high ambition (relative to standing, position, financials etc) does not work well with a supporter owned club. That combination could kill a club. Worse than annual administration threats.

I am not denegrating or belittling your passion here and it is well intended and admired. As al Pacino said, "I would, be kicking arse right now, but I'm too old, too tired and too god damned blind" What we must not do however, is
become a lynch mob or overreact, this is a potentially serious situation but we have been here before right? We have trusted a new board and they are having a few rows or so we are led to believe.

Besides the bee hive is a dive probably owned by a CL member who has some wurthers original sweets and hedgehog crisps to shift.

I not one to follow to many rumours, but the rumours this time come from posters who are not the type to spread rumours they are normally the ones shouting people down.

I would be and i am worried from what i have heard, so please dont knock people for what they are doing.

Come doen and listen then make your minds up after the meeting

Hopefully it will die a death just like the previous attempt to destabilise the club. It certainly isn't going on all Charlton forums and there are many who are refusing to entertain it.

Blimey. Me and Typ on the same page!
Let's stand by and wait for some facts. Then, if you're right, both Typical and me will rush to join our friends from CL on the baricades.

Im preparing my outfit for tonight. I've got white bed sheet that I have cut holes in so I can see out. I've made a wooden torch and some prawn sandwiches and a flask of bovril if it gets a bit nippy. I am probably going to wear some comfy shoes if we are marching to the valley but will take me card just in case we get the bus.

Now can someone remind me, what are we protesting about again?

Oh damn look at the time... I've missed the meeting at the Beehive.

At least my hair is feeling all 'special luscious & soft' though. <ok>

Can you recommend a hypoallergenic conditioner, Alex?

My current one is playing havoc with my hands. <laugh>
