Not sure I agree with that. I wasn't sure of his movement, close-control and passing. But I kind of disagree with the whole premise of this thread, I don't think we need or want another RVP, to be honest. I think the "false #9" is not very effective in the premiership with its lack of man-marking. I would rather we stuck with Giroud and Podolski as strikers and picked up a real attacking midfielder with a good shot from distance.
Realistic options out there - Lewandowski, Higuain/Benzema (depending on who Mourinho chooses as 2nd choice and RVP swap), Huntlaar, Demba Ba, Cisse, LLorente, Dzeko in swap (wages might be issue) feel free to name others. My fantasy pick Tevez - wages and attitude aside He would be sick.
Do you mean play 2 upfront with an AM behind them or do you mean stick to current position. Either way if RVP is going we need a replacement one way or the other as Cham, Bend, Vela and Young are not good enough.
Wonder if we can come to some kind of arrangement with Madrid.... say Sahin and Higuain for RVP and cash? Whaddya say fellas?
Hes a good player allright and has certainly done well since Pixar sacked him from the Toy story franchise. http://favim.com/image/461956/
I mean stick with the current formation but play Giroud or Podolski as the lone striker. Get a big strong AM with a shot that could play up top in an emergency.
He'd be great in the premiership but Dortmund aren't even going to consider bids for him unless it's for silly money.
Good player, but too expensive and is too similar to what we have at the moment. Would love to see us make a move for Berbatov though
What a stupid thing to say, RVP was not impressive in the Euros but he is proven in our league and that goes for for the rest of our players. The reason I mentioned the Euros was because he has not played in our league and I have not seen much of outside the Euros therefore I can only make an observation on a player based on the matches I have seen him in. I didnt say he was rubbish did I? He strikes me as a goal poacher but we already have 2 of those in Pod and Giroud both of whom have not played in this league before so it will take time for them to adjust, having a third striker who has not played in our league will be risky as he will most likely need time to adjust. Instead of jumping to conclusions and making backhanded comments perhaps you should read my post and try and understand what I mean, that way you wont jump to conclusions which make you look like a fool.
He is a cracking player and has matured in the role as we saw at Spurs last year..brilliant at holding the ball up and bringing the midfield into play..he would go some way to repairing the 38 goals that may go missing next year,if he was at Arsenal.
Yes he did. It just goes to show how creative our team was in the 07-08 season. I mean even Ade managed 30 goals (only time in his career). Fabregas was so good that season, he laid so many goals on a plate for Ade.
I bet every time he plays for hes thinking " What a shower of sh1te ......should have behaved at City . damn ! "
dont be upset..and actually yes..17 goals does go someway in making up 38 goals..however since you think your midfield is so much better than Spurs's..which maybe true.....im sure he would get more...and at the reputed knock down price of 8 million..you could do much worse.
We are not upset , dont fret yourself Spudcock . Thats why we just bought 2 GOOD strikers. 17 goals from a striker may be acceptable to your sh1te team . For us its a bad season . It might suffice against Young Boys , or PAOK thesalonika . But the big boys have to play the Barcas and stuff . mmm? mmmm ?
