Yeah it was a great all round performance, I agree there, but I think it was mainly between Chic Pea and Park.
Giggs got 2 assists, Vidic was immense at the back (how many times did you see him cutting out a dangerous pass?) and Rooney was everywhere. I honestly wouldn't be able to call it.
Hard to pick one, Park played well, Chicharito's movement caused their defense all sorts of problems, Carrick easily had his best games of the season over the 2 legs, Vidic was solid, Giggs was good as usual, as was Van Der Sar, but I went for Rooney simply because he was at the heart of everything, spraying balls everywhere.
Giggs for me. He got great praise after the first leg but though he had a poor game, bar the assist. Tonight he was superb throughout and was easily our best player imo. Rooney was also great too but should have done better against Essien for the goal imo. Park was very good too and showed quality aswell as the undoubted work rate.
All of them were excellent. I eventually went for Rooney because he just seemed to be everywhere and his passing today was the best i've seen from him in a while. Giggs a close second.
I would go for Rooney, but a special mention should go to Carrick for best over the whole tie. Against one of the best midfields around too.
Giggs for me. Created all three goals, and occupied the Chelsea midfield fantastically over the two legs. He's gotta be first choice CM in big games from now on, even ahead of Scholes.
Was in the East Stand last night...Giggs was class, but Rooney was different gravy...his pace, movement and passing was just superb. Well done btw, you fully deserved the win
Cheers mate, very magnanimous of you I **** myself a bit when Drogba scored because Chelsea are so good at coming from behind, but it just wasn't to be for you. I'm sure you'll be there or thereabouts next year again.
I thought Park was brilliant all game, he was like a terrier in mid-field, didn't give the Chelsea players an inch. The goal capped a wonderfull performance and was more than deserved. Between Park, Rooney and Giggs it was pretty damn hard to pick, but my vote went to Park in the end because his play on either wing was brilliant all game and he got the goal he deserved too.
