Any similarity between what DC says and what actually happens on the racetrack is entirely coincidental. If you commit to a move, and know what is going on around you, it is your responsibility to pull that move off cleanly. He was always going to need the width of the track, and the only way it wasn't Pastor's fault is if he didn't realise Perez was wheel to wheel with him. He will claim that he didn't see Sergio, and whether or not he gets penalised should depend on whether the (useless bar)stewards believe him.
It was Perez who moved on Maldonado, not the other way around. Maldonado oversteered and caught Perez. It's the exact same as his incident with Grosjean in Australia, which was deemed a racing incident.
That's how I see it. Obviously, Maldo has a bad rep (not without reason) but it doesn't mean it's always his fault. Lewis wasn't squealing like Pérez after Valencia.
Yes, Perez moved around the outside. And yes, sometimes collisions are simply racing incidents. But if you cannot defend your position without knowingly damaging the other car, the position is gone. The only question is whether Maldo knew where Perez was.
Hamilton's tactic has not worked at all, did not see it working now it could be even worse for him as the ones up the top are out in-front and have pitted and his tyres are going to be worse now, **** sake!

Given that his race has also been ****ed up, I'd consider it unlikely that Maldonado did it on purpose. People are simply overreacting due to Maldonado's reputation. This is completely different from the incident in Valencia.
But was it to early to go to the option. Alonso and Hamilton may be in for a battle in the closing laps.
