This story was a complete wind up from the beginning - it started off on facebook, then here, then Twitter and then Sky Sports picked it up - the admin of the NPower Championship Banter Page started it off. They were trying to get it trending on twitter

This not really a thread to interest Hull fans, not unless they're passionate about overpaid League One strikers.

    ARF!

How many league goals did Fryatt get last season? How many league goals did Beckford get last season? Not to mention the extra £30k Beckford will be on compared.

He´s good in Div 1 & average (at best) in the npower. He´s like Heskey in a way, he´ll score 3 or 4 goals in, say, 6 games & everyone will be ranting & raving about him for a week or 2 then posts will start to appear saying "Fryups done **** all for ages." Just think they could be a partnership next season ???? :emoticon-0125-mmm:

He is better than Beckford and is not on 35k a week, oh yeah where were those 16 goals that Beckford scored last season, I just can't seem to find a website that states that

Fryatt is a an average championship striker and there is nothing wrong with that. If I was a betting man though I'd put my money on Beckford having a better goals per game ratio this coming season. I say that because I predict that Vardy and Nugent will become the preferred striker partnersip, so may limit Beckford's chances.

Nugent & Vardy will destroy defences this year (assuming they both stay reasonably fit).

You can quote me on that at the end of the season.

Nugent got 16, Beckford got 15 and Gallagher got 10

Considering Beckford didnt turn up til Jan thats a decent total.

Fryatt is a better team player and has a better attitude but he isnt as good as Beckford. Fryatt wont be able to make the step up to the prem while Beckford proved he can

i disagree. I think fryatt is very good and has added a bit more pace to his game. He is a great finisher and one-on-one i would back him over ost strikers in this league. I think he could step up to the premiership but would need a big strong target man next to him. Not a howard/adebola, but more of a Demba Cisse (though not really that good, moor that sort of player)

No with one of the 2 english men to manage in the premier league for more than 10 years, an achievement your manager will never achieve.

Well hes not though is he. Beckford isn't worth 35k a week but then no player at champ level is worth that. Beckford is still a much better striker though and considering Fryatt was playing as a lone striker most of the season he shoulda got more

McCormack scored more goals than both Beckford and Fryatt and played on the wing for half the season. I still think Beckford is a better player though, one season and the stats in that season does not all of a sudden change how good a player is. And Fryatt is an average championship player and nothing more, he will not make the step-up to the prem and if he does he will struggle and be out of his depth. You are just overrating him because he plays for the team you support

Beckford and Fryatt are as good as anybody at this level. If we could get Beckfords head right he could tear this league apart,if not then I would take Fryatt any day. I am led to believe Beckford is on £28k a week which is stopping him moving on. But if his goals take us up then its money well spent.
