Unfortunatel tewkes. It's funny- you wake up at 6-7am, Monday - Friday, and crave an extra hour in bed. On Saturday/Sunday when you have that option, you're never able to take advantage <laugh>.

I'm not saying the reasons for player sales might not have changed, but when I was told this, it was a matter of profit <ok>.

What I don't like about all these stories is that it confuses a much, much larger percentage of cafc fans. I understand some people want to get certain information out there, others to say I told you so/take credit. It tears the foundation of the club apart - its support.

And to clarify what I mean about confusing fans- the other day TJ was the guy working tirelessly seeking new investment to help. A mere 48 hours later news comes out that he is the bad guy and must go.

So you can understand why some individuals are apprehensive.

Can I ask why a senior member of staff Airman Brown/Ricky boy is posting Company sensitive information on a fans forum? Wouldn't his employment contract preclude this?

Or could it be that Airman knows FECK ALL and just likes his little tribe to hero worship him?

Do we know for certain that airman brown works for the club. Seems strange as you say that with all these confidentiality agreements in contracts now days he should be out on his ear. Unless its all tripe.

I've never been a fan of this approach- especially when it affects people's professional integrity. I have always thought it was to gain cult status amongst the Internet community.

If he knows facts that are going to seriously damage our (and his) beloved club, possibly within a short period of time, then say something more than a cryptic 30 word statement.

Reading a thread on CL - the members really seem to be back a few to the hills (people I don't know as I'm not a visitor of the site), but for everitt, I know to take anything he says with a pinch of salt.

He does work at the club. He escaped anything in the past as the person who he smeared didn't really care what he said.

Absolutely true. "Sources" are not always as reliable as they seem, especially from someone with a silly name like airman Brown. About 3 years ago I was told by an estate agent friend that they had been asked by Charlton to prepare a prospectus for The Valley with a view to selling it. An impeccable source I'd say but it came to nothing and fortunately I didn't post anything about it.
Ostriches may look odd but you wouldn't want to mess with one would you??

I may be wrong but I always thought Airman Brown was Ben Hayes, erstwhile fans director, not Rick Everitt.

    Can anyone confirm?

I see not606 have been accused of being "in denial". It's a matter of trying to gather facts for ourselves not having our head in the sand.

You'll notice that the details aren't exactly coherent. Please draw on my Jimenez example as above. The main CL guys who evidently have contact with the club are sharing anything they have heard with positive intentions. Another % are relaying information off as their own and this is where a few extra details are seemingly being added.

It confuses a large % of fans who genuinely care about the club. They might not get on forums as much as some, read one of the relayed messages and aren't being told the full facts (and at times inaccurate ones).

So please don't say I, and others are in denial. I'd prefer to gather all the information before going around every forum telling them we are up "**** creek".

Should the supporters have to band together, I can guarantee most on here will be prepared to do what they can to help. I just hope some won't be too concerned with saying "I told you so" if it did indeed come to anything.

I believe Henry Irving is Ben Hayes but I may be wrong.

Great post by the way Super. I hope some over there bother to read it.

What's more logical, 'burying your head in the sand' because you have no evidence for believing something, or saying we're up **** creek using only speculation and guesswork as evidence?

Like I said earlier, one post by Airman, followed by speculation and guesswork which culminates in apparant 'facts'.

BTW,I don't doubt the guys who are putting their efforts in to finding out what they can. There are some seemingly top posters over there with very good intentions.

If we want cold hard facts, then might I suggest writing an open letter to the board with all concerns, and then posting it on all forums for everyone to read (so the club know its public). This won't interest the national press, but get it put up on some of the "tier 2" football sites and blogs (101 greatest goals etc), as it will then show up on the news wires.

Now I know for fact (as it was my job), that the digital sides of the nationals spend a large proportion of the day reading wires to try and get the scoop first. If they see this repeat up several times, you may well find that it could make for an interesting story to some journo's - especially when you consider the publicity Jimenez had at Newcastle.

You then hope this push's the boards hand in to releasing an official statement (not 2 paragraphs) saying how it is one way or another.

Not quite the valley party I know, but it would at least (you hope), bring some facts to public knowledge.

maybe Airman Brown / Everett's comments are also just a response to other CL members comments and not from his own information. CL are generally negative about everything anyway

Ostriches don't spend all the time with their head in the sand - they have long necks and can sometimes see the wood from the trees

Right so if Everitt is saying online we are in the brown stuff, why is it that the day before the Hartlepool game he said to me and about 6 other fans having a quick coffee before getting back to doing the ground up for the season finale, that "We will be signing the best sponsorship deal in the Championship money wise, unless West Ham stay down, then it will be the second highest paid sponsorship deal in the division". Sorry if my logical mind refuses to believe we are in the doo doo after a season that won us the title and saw the arrival of 20ish new players, saw us sign a kit deal with nike, our captain sign a contract extension, a refit of the clubs superstore, some money pumped into you development and according to the media a few bids on players that would cost in excess of 500k each.

Because the backer has pulled his money out. This happenned at the end of June well after the Hartlepool game. How has signing a big sponsorship deal got anything to do with it?

Yeah, and seven years ago someone told me me we were going to sign Darren Bent, so everything is fine yeah, no it's not, like your conversation that was in the past, the backer pulled all his money out of the club on June 22nd, before that date we were OK, since that date we are in the poo, nothing said before that date has any bearing on our current predicament, and if you are relying on one year's shirt sponsorship from an air conditioning firm to plug the multi-million pound and rising hole in the finances that we have with no backer, you're even more deluded than the other ostriches.
