Nothing we can do about it, we are who we are, separation is not really wanted by the majority of the people living in the UK

valley now why can't FIFA provide the celtic nations with a written guarantee if there is no problem with them joining up to team gb football, as valkauer the FIFA vice president stated there is no problem, but yet he will only give a verbal assurance, and after 7 years they still have not given a written guarantee. dont you find that a bit odd, seeing that the celtic nations have agreed to join on condition they get written guarantees.?

No I don't find it odd at all, perhaps you want something in writing that they will try and merge the home nations ? I find it odd that you care to be honest, as you want an independent Wales away from the rest of the UK , and our domestic teams out of playing in England. You strive for that and they won't be merging independent countries.

In the meantime I will quite happily support the Swans in the Premier League and Wales in whatever competitions they play, and of course TeamGB as they represent us all.

Best of luck with independence , it may happen in the next millennia.

They won't though, that is why the party for wales is the third or fourth placed party in wales. They alienate anyone not speaking Welsh and as that is three quarters of the population it will never happen

Doesn't every welsh football fan care about our national team then? Independence for Wales will happen when it is the wish of the people of Wales and only then, it has nothing to do with Plaid

It has everything to with plaid as they are the only ones endorsing it. As for the caring for the national team, well I do but I'm sure that there are others who don't give a monkeys, you can tell that by the fact that we and Cardiff get higher gates.

So why have they entered this time <laugh> nothings changed and no warning or written letter has stopped team GB going ahead <ok> should all the welsh competitors not represent GB ???? what a load of tosh it has nothing to do with the home nations at all. Your fighting a losing battle here mabon im afraid it a GB entrant into the olympic games and all the people taking part including footballers are British subjects and if chosen are entitled to take part.....ITs starting in 3 weeks time and there is nothing to stop our lads from competing or it would have been done....why has nothing been done ????? because its above board and legal and they dont have any option to do anything....enjoy while its on and stop making things up that are rubbish.....If it was not rubbish then they would not be there its as simple as that and neither would any other welsh representative....

    this is an indepence push

Scottish National Party (SNP) leader Alex Salmond pulled off an unprecedented victory in the Scottish Parliament election, clearing the way for a referendum on independence.
Flying into Edinburgh by helicopter, he pledged to "make the nation proud" after his party won 69 of 129 seats.
He welcomed promises of constructive opposition from the leaders of Labour and the Liberal Democrats, adding: "This party, the Scottish party, the national party, carries your hope. We shall carry it carefully and make the nation proud."
Mr Salmond saw his party pick up seats across Scotland, dealing a devastating blow to Labour - which will lose its leader, Iain Gray - and taking huge numbers of votes from the Liberal Democrats.

That's Scotland it's not Wales where the equivalent party are very much the minority, where they are losing seats and are basically a wasted vote. Their policies are at best naive and at worst incompetent, all you have to do is read their manifesto it's an utter joke. I certainly do not vote for them.

Thats the good thing about a democracy, a vote for plaid may be a wasted vote to you, but to someone else plaid are a very important part of the welsh political scene, and not a wasted vote. Now plaid have been pivotal in ensuring that legislation was put in place to protect our language and as a welsh speaker you should applaud that, plaid were also pivotal in ensuring that labour stuck to the One Wales agreement, thus ensuring more devolved powers to the welsh people, you should also applaud that too.

Musty things are changing in Wales but they are small slow steps, within 30 years the british isles will be a collection of 4 federal states with the queen as head of state for each individual nation. The UK is slowly fragmenting and has done since the mid eighties the English will be the main driving force behind the seperation of the uk, its inevitable and with more powers being devolved to the celtic nations the english will ensure that they get their share of devolution as well and quite right too.

The people of Wales will watch things in scotland closely.

It's a wasted vote as they have no real policies except independence, they do not outline how they are going to pay for that, or how it will work. They have lost their share of the vote in the last elections and are actually in decline.

To you maybe, but there are still people who want to vote for plaid, plaid have every right to put independence as an aim of the party, the same as labour had 5p for a plastic bag as part of their manifesto, labour and the tories have done nothing but ****ed Wales over for years,

So clearly you are a plaid voter, they have the right to put anything in their manifesto, it's a shame they don't have any medium to long term plans on how the economy will fare under their stewardship. That kind of thing just shows how naive they are.

They expect people to vote for them, but tell me Mabon why do they alienate non welsh speakers ? The minority living here who have a right to vote are completely disregarded by them, the party for Wales is for welsh speakers, so the 75% who don't speak the language are left behind, the party for the majority they say they are in fact the party for the minority.

That by the way is why plaid will never get anywhere, because unlike the snp who offer an alternative to labour, plaid here are a party stagnating.

I am a disgruntled labour voter who at the minute does not see much difference between labour and the tories, i agree plaid should be reaching out to both speakers and non speakers of our language, and more to the point everybody who has made Wales their home. There is at present no real alternative to labour which i feel is not helping us move forward like scotland, i also agree plaid are stagnating which is doing more to help labour.
