I can see no point whatsoever for Usmanov to be a minority shareholder in AFC. This is probably the least profitable investment in his 18 billion portfolio. 200 ml is just peanuts for him. All he wants is publicity, just like Abramovich. Being a minority shareholder is just wasting time.

It's hard to see the point in Usmanov's involvement in AFC, full stop. If he wants to own a football club, there are plenty others desperate for investment, in this country and elsewhere. Could have rescued Rangers without noticing it in his balance sheet!

Back when he was about to invest there were reports he had spent hundreds of thousand or more on lawyers etc. to send out cease and desist orders to anyone or anything publishing on his criminal involvement and his generally dodgy past.

Can't say I know why he's fixated on Arsenal, but by now he is too heavily invested to just let go. Expect him to improve his situation in any slimy way he can. Based on his past that is just how he does business. Which makes me doubly sick how some people here would prefer him to own us, over a group of people who let the people closer to the club run it the way they see best. If Usmanov were to take over he'd stick his nose anywhere he could, as this letter and many of his other charades have shown.

At the risk of being done for libel, it would be difficult for someone to make the money that Usmanov has done in the region that he's worked in without having a few bodies floating down the Volga in his wake. Although, vested interests or not, I don't disagree with some of what he's saying. And to claim that Kroenke, Hill-Wood etc aren't in it for the money either is equally fallacious. Just see Hill-Wood's interview in today's Guardian!

I did laugh at the stab at Gazidis's attempts at getting sponsorship being pointed out in the letter :p. Usmanov really went great guns on this one.

Just answer the question !! If I knew what you were talking about I would say <doh>

I've said before I don't really remember Dein and I certainly am not aware of what he has done which was so bad. I watch football, I don't sit on the board.

I would have thought that someone your age who has been an Arsenal fan as long as you-You know an 'olloway boy from the manor who bleeds Arsenal-would remember the Bond Scheme.Surely you must remember the the demonstrations outside the ground.I remember them and i'm not a real Arsenal fan in your eyes. You know **** all about Dein because you were never around when the ****er had the idea to charge normal fans between £1,100 and £1,500 to be able to buy a bond that then enabled you to pay even more money for a season ticket for the North bank Stand.I've always said you were a gobshite and now you've proved it.

I couldn't give a flying **** about your opinion - I don't care what you think - you are an irrelevance. Stick to the sheep old man, don't hate because you have no link to "da manor", your'e not Arsenal, you are just a prick with enough time on your hands and money in your pocket to go to Arsenal games. You're a mug and I will happily say it to your face, clown.

    That was a good read.

You have become a selling club which should not be the case given your infrastructure.

Re. the idea that Usmanov is planning a "hostile" takeover with the aim of becoming majority shareholder/gaining control of the club. There is no way he can do that, given that Kroenke holds more than 50% of the shares. In normal parlance, a hostile takeover involves an offer to buy enough shares to give outright control of the business, where this offer is rejected by the board of directors. Even if every shareholder other than Kroenke sold their holding to Usmanov, he would not wrest control from Kroenke.

People should ask themselves whether Usmanov's words and actions are those of a man who has the best interests of AFC at heart. Or even why he is involved with AFC at all.

Precisely, we should not be losing our best players on a regular basis, the Infrastructure of the club is very healthy however the objectives of the board differ from the objective of us fans. They are treating this as any other business when it clearly isnt and are more concerned with making a profit than strengthening the team and challenging for titles.
