    Interesting tweet from Prince Buaben

    prince buaben ‏@pbuaben

Sad to see talented manager #Sean dyche leave But We welcome new manager #Gianfranco Zola

Interesting because up and til now it's been a rule that the squad haven't been allowed to comment on football at all on Twitter...they stick to FIFA, films and nandos! (though Prince did break the rule a while back and got hauled over the coals for it i seem to remember)

Either Bassini or Dyche would have made that decision, and for better and worse respectively, neither of them are at the club anymore.

Two year deal is good - means things can't get out of hand.

Looking forward to the style of football that is being promised.

I always try to give credit when it's due to people I don't like, because if you do that you can get away with being vicious the rest of the time.

Judging by Cardiff's zero-tolerance policy going into the playoffs, I'd say Malky Mackay was the influence behind that rule.

damn, that thought makes my skin creep lol...you could be right of course, but maybe it was more Dyche who gave the hint to MM lol

If (and it's a big if) we're going to get players on loan from top Engliish clubs, anyone else think Man U and Arsenal will change to Man C and Chelsea? They've both got Italian managers, GZ is an ex-Chelsea player and was a team-mate of RDM while he was there.

Will never be able to understand short term talk like this! To seemingly give more importance to borrowing players ? Dont you want a settled (subject to form of players of course) squad and try to build for the future ?? All the uncertainties with the Cleverlys and others ..will they be staying a bit longer,is parent club gonna want 'em back. How can a club plan with all that going on?

Suppose a handful loanees is inevitable these days but to talk only of who can we BORROW when have to assume A BIT of money at least will be available for new players if squad thought to need strengthening.
Premier clubs wont be loaning out the 'big names', unless they're injury prone or,like me, a bit past it

KEEP THE YOUTH DEVELOPMENT GOING WFC -YOURE GOOD AT IT!. Promotion to Prem League is not essential next May!!

Going to hate myself for saying this but I agree with Nick<yikes> We have to bring in permanent signings! Yes there is going to be a certain amount of loanees but if we want to progress up the league we need strengthening long term not just short term. The Academy is so important for our future, but alas the kids are not ready!!! ( am I getting deja vu, as I am sure I said this last year)<yikes>

oldnick - would normally agree with you over the loan system, borrowing players for the short term doesn't really benefit us - mainly giving us a skewed sense of reality. But in this instance I disagree as future loans will more than likely be from 'within the family' and not from other clubs - in a sense they will be 'ours' anyway. Any sense of permanence has gone anyway - the Pozzos stated business model is to develop players and sell them on - so whether we own the players or borrow them is irrelevant as we'll lose them anyway.

This business of loans from within the "family" might be a bit too simple, not you BB, as I see that a player within Udinese is jointly owned by two clubs. I don't know if such an arrangement is possible under our rules, but you could find that a player's value could be shown as half within each club. This could lead to players being moved around on paper to improve a balance sheet.

I do agree with Nick though that we need to improve the quality of the team with a core of good players that are really ours and hope that the youngsters who get to first team standard are not wisked off to Italy or Spain.

Cant wait for that then Boltons,if you're correct.
Announcement this week from owners that the 'F' in WFC now means Factory ? While they're at it,drop the word 'club' too ,hang on to name of 'Watford' for now?

    Welcome Zola :)

Gunna leave my reservations about the way Dyche was treated to the side for the time being!

I really can't remember how Zola's West Ham team played, so if anyone can inform me on that, that'll be great.

Obviously we need some signings but hey, I'm optimistic ahead of the season!

Just seen WO article from Friday (rain at Wimbledon!). Like any new owners we know little about the Pozzos yet, but
they are claiming the club wouldnt lose its I.D, so if taken at face value WFC wording should remain intact.

If it turns out they have plans to produce players just to sell on,hopefully they'd need planning permission for a 'Factory'

Hampshire - If I recall correctly Zola tried to play a passing game at WHFC, but some of the players he inherited were very average. I know a fair few 'appy 'ammers and all of them really liked Zola and were not happy with his sacking and the appointment of Grant.

I would like to us to buy and develop our own as well - I was merely speculating whether we might be changing the clubs we "target" for any loan signings we make from big clubs in England and as you say, getting loanees in is inevitable especially as loans are taking place between top flight clubs in different countries. Also, you have to look at it the other way - how many of our youngsters have benefitted from the loan system? This seems to be part of our youth development plan.
