1. (The less controversial one) Henderson. He has his critics. Some say drop him completely. Some say he is a winger. I agree with the latter but I thought we missed him the other day. He might not be physically able to put in a tackle but he doesn't stop running and as a local lad will want to do his absolute best to keep us up. Cattermole was the worst of a horrendous bunch for me the other day. I'm a big fan of his but he was so incredibly rusty and generally not fit to play a match which may be Bruce's fault for allowing him to play instead of keeping him on the bench. He looked slow, he looked shattered and I can barely remember him putting in a single decent pass or tackle. Henderson is fit and young. I personally don't think he does a brilliant job in middle but we're in a desperate state. 2. (The more controversial one) Angeleri. Here we go. With Mensah crocked and Ferdinand picking up a slight knock....is he an option? I mean he came out with some utter garbage in the press about Bruce not liking him because he is English which is absurd but does that mean his short SAFC career is over? He'll most likely be away in the summer but upon reflection the lad has only had a few minutes game time which were hardly inspiring and he can fill in at right back with onuoha pushing in alongside Turner. I know the chances of seeing him playing ever again are pretty much zero after his rant but I wonder whether desperate times call for measures this desperate??
From the looks of things, we hadn't much chance of seeing Angeleri play before his rant either! I can't honestly say that he, Riveros and Kilgallon have had a fair crack of the whip here. Fair enough, in the first half of the season, why change a side going so well? - I understand that. But since February, we had nothing to lose by giving them a shot. I thought one of the pluses of buying a RB was to free up Onuoha for his proper position anyway. We've three capable players - two of them internationals - just wasting away here, at a time when changing the existing team would be no loss at all. I'm afraid I don't understand that mentality, do you?
McBardsley RB, Nedum CB, Turner CB, one of the young uns LB not sure of the kids name but why not? As for Henderson play him on the wing his spell out will have given him a break and a kick up the backside so should come back firing on all cylinders.
Mignolet McBardsley Onuoha Turner Ricco Henderson Muntari Steed Campbell/NOBLE Gyan Welbeck Saw an article in the echo I think saying Noble wants to play some part of the first team before the end of the season. Why not?? He's done very well for the reserves in the past, he's a local lad, he'll be fired up and the chance to become a hero could well be served to him on a plate with such a lack of fight and goals in the team at the minute. If he scored his confidence goes through the roof. It might be too wishful thinking but would love to see it happen. Is Campbell back because i'd be tempted to give the lad some part in the game on Saturday? Cattermole misses out. No explanation needed really. Just watch last weeks match and you'll see he was shattered after the first minute. Henderson on the wing! It could/should happen! And finally Richardson. We hear Bruce go on about him being played in all sorts of different positions but to be totally honest his only consistently decent position is left back! LM and CM he looks outmuscled and totally inneffectual. Playing just off the striker he is too hit and miss. His best game of the season was actually on the RW at Stamford Bridge when he basically stalked Ashley Cole for the sntire game haha but no he is a LB and should stay there when he plays.
This week end is a cup final, and until we get a win, the remainder of our games will be cup finals.wonder what Bruce can conjour up.
