Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers steps up negotiations to make Roma striker Fabio Borini his first signing please log in to view this image Brendan Rodgers is close to making Roma forward Fabio Borini his first signing as Liverpool manager following lengthy negotiations in Italy. Rodgers worked with Borini when he was a coach in Chelsea's academy and again at Swansea City when the 21 year-old came on loan to the then Championship side in March 2011, scoring six goals in just nine appearances in South Wales. That temporary move did not lead to a first-team breakthrough at Stamford Bridge and Borini, who moved to London from Bologna as a teenager, returned to Italy after making just three senior appearances. The Italy Under-21 international, who made his full international debut against the US in February, moved to Parma initially, but was immediately loaned out to Roma, who are believed to have an option to buy for £7 million. Despite failing to make an impact at Chelsea, Borini has flourished on his return to his homeland and Rodgers saw enough of him at Swansea to believe he is good enough to slot into the Liverpool team on the right of a three-man strike-force. The deal is slightly complicated by the fact Borini is co-owned by Parma and Roma, with each holding a 50 per cent stake, which means Liverpool will have to reach an agreement with both clubs to finalise the move. Sauce: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...a-striker-Fabio-Borini-his-first-signing.html I think the Gylfi fiasco has taught us not to count our chickens, but the sauce is not bad, so lets keep our fingers crossed again.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...Borini-ends-Liverpool-hopes-signing-Roma.html This article ^^ a few weeks ago suggests he signed for Roma, but above it says he is co-owned by Roma and Parma, these journalists are pretty clueless really.
Still a few rumors circulating that we are looking at Ramirez, Dempsey and Ba too. seems Rodgers is intent on improving our attacking options. Would be very happy if the above mentioned players where our only signings. Gylfi who?
Ramirez - don't know too much about him Dempsey - a journeyman who would not really add quality to the side Ba - 3 strikes against him. (1) There's still a question mark about his knees. (2) We need a dedicated selfish striker and he allowed himself to be used as a provider. (3) **** NUFC they've has enough of our cash and are just too disrespectful.
They had the cheek to finish above us The only Newcastle player I don't like is that embarrassing diving twat Danny Simpson.
sounds murky and his success/failure quotient appears risky.... i guess we're badly enough off to need to take risks.. I am hoping some work done (mainly by rafa in fairness) will pay off by having top players at 17/18 and not having to pay 30 mil+ for a hazard type. we'll see if there's any foundation in this deal as it sounds shady.
Literally no idea about this guy. Considering we have Carroll and Suarez, unless a huge signing, they will play only as backup. Maybe one of the Swansea fans lurking could inform us.
