Richard Logan makes it 6 signings, I guess this is the one Finchy mentioned. I think that makes me happy with out squad (maybe excluding goalkeeping cover)
Good to see that Wad had done his negotiations in readiness for the lifting of the transfer embargo. I have been previously critical of his transfer market activity, but he seems to have been very astute with his dealings and preparation so far. Lets hope we have a great season with everyone behind the team and then nobody has any excuses!
am very happy with our squad mainly, but i do worry slightly about the cover upfront. if beaver leaves (which there is still a good chance of) that leaves us with youngster mcclure, oli who has a terrible goalscoring record and richard logan with 6 goals last season. mcloed is still avaliable (being a bit hopeful!) as in donnely
I do love how the club website does always big up a players scoring record! The Wycombe website says 47 goals in 95 starts. But what that does neglect is that in fact he actually played almost 200 games for Exeter and in fact it is 47 goals in 95 starts plus 98 sub appearances in the league!
So assuming his subs averaged out at around 15mins a game we could say he scores a goal approx every 3½hrs of playing time.
They really worded that cleverly, I thought we were onto a right winner there. Still happy with the squad and fingers crossed that Beever stays, doubtful but still possible,
i hope so (but i doubt it!!!) based on these signings, my team for next season : bull mccoy doherty stewart basey grant bloomfield/lewis spring wood beavon logan
I like it Jose, unlike the last few seasons that seems a pretty similar team which finished last season. After Bloomfields performances last season I would like to see him play and maybe even captain, however I always like Lewis and have heard good things about Spring (didn't he end up as captain for LO last season) Therefore my team would be Bull McCoy Doherty Winfield Basey Lewis Bloomfield Spring Wood - From what I have heard and read a great signing Beavon Oli/Logan Am I drunk or do I sense a new optimism around our club. I'm not getting too excited as I believe our first 11 might be good, but we only have a small squad and it will tell, however I always like playing acadamy players and they will surely get a chance. I think the answer to the above is BOTH,
i think we actually have a hafl decent chance next season IF (and its a big if) all the signings deliver and we either keep hold of beavon or we buy another proven goalscorer. captain wise, i think either bull (given he had the role last season), bloomfield or doherty
You'll find it difficult to dislike Dennis Oli..... despite large periods of inability ( when he's not injured .) Dennis tries ! & occasionally will give a couple of great performances, then...... oh well, at least he's running around a lot ! Now, can we interest you in Mark McCammon -He's a big strong ( international ) striker & he's no trouble at all ( but doesn't like snow )
I'd rather have a donkey on the pitch. McCammon has been the worst player for the Gills that I've seen. At least the donkey **** would have fertilised the grass.
Scott Donnelly has been given a free by Swansea - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18788007 (at the bottom of this) - would love to see him back and he does seem to really like the club.
We've just turned down a bid from Oldham for Leon Clarke - can you guys top £1.50? Ron, Rocky, glad you like the avatar. Do you recognise her?
Can't say I do Tewkes. Been doing a bit of scouting myself for an additional striker. I wouldn't mind this one up front. please log in to view this image
