http://soundcloud.com/andrewhaigh/clayton Clayton said he wasn't wanted and he wasn't in Warnocks plans.
I thought it was because he refused to sign a new contract, sounds like it was nothing to do with finance or contract offers.
What i mean by it is that warnock only wanted him as a squad player and therefore offered him a squad players wage. If warnock wanted him enoughthen he'd have offered him a better contract.
Did you not both hope deep down though that it was a bit of a screen from Warnock, a message to Clayton sign a new contract knuckle down and do the business and earn a higher contract? It sounds like he wasn't wanted and the "He was offered a contract but wanted more" comment an excuse. Matters not, just felt he sounded very disappointed in the interview.
I hope Grayson takes Paynter off our hands, after all he signed him in the first place - now we're stuck with the useless ****
