Heard the tail end of this when he said he was going to buy LFC from Moores and planned to build a new stadium but pulled out when he realised there was no wages cap in the Premier League. He said he wanted to compete on a level playing field and having seen how City have distorted matters with their money he feels he made the right decision. He stated that a sport business, whether football, NFL, basketball etc should be used to generate profits to invest in the local community and not to pay players crazy amounts of money. Apparently a large amount of the profit from his NFL club ( New England Patriots) goes to charity and he has given hundreds of millions away. The point he failed to see was that in American Football the only market for players to earn big money is in the USA so the clubs can operate a wage cap. With football if the Prem had a wage cap all the decent players would just go to Italy,Spain or even USA to get around it. Pity he never bought us he has an outlook on business that is the exact opposite of H & G, and real money of his own.
who knows... what we can say is 90% of guys would have been far better than G&H and i think having seen whats happened to rangers we did get away lightly in the end. G&H could have ended our club, no question about it. Thanks is given to FSG and RBS but right now i feel that FSG are just going to turn us into a profitable but midtable side but am waiting to see what happens this summer. Merchandising to make millions but i n20 years time it'll all be a faded memory.. I am hoping to see genuine investment this summer.
