Thank you. A bit of sanity at last. There's too much talk of how everything he does turns to gold. The bottom line is that he has done nothing for Leeds yet, nothing. If we win our first few games then we can praise him
Only good thing out of this is he's gone to Huddersfield and Simon Grayson, if you ask me SG never got the best out of him, long may this continue!
Clayton definitely won't be on £15k at Udders, in fact can't even see him on £10k, so why leave Leeds for a **** club and **** up your career?
Because Warnock doesn't want you and Grayson's a better manager at a more ambitious club as it stands?
Billy Alan Lee is on 15k at Huddersfield so I tell you know Clayton will have got around the same. Huddersfield Town last year wage bill and fees was £23million Leeds Uniteds £11.5 million
IMO he went missing more under SG than he did with Warnock. Probably more creative under SG but not very consitent, if I remember he started really well last season and then disappeared.
Explain how it matters when you know it is going to be the final fee? You know that come January you are going to have to blow £500k on him?? It wouldn't have been as bad had it been an 'option' it makes it even worse business that you have to pay it and sign him no matter what.
and then disappeared under GRAYSON! Didn't start playing well again (though stifled by defensive duties) until NW arrived.
Clayton and Scannell are two good signings by 'Udders, they're clearly not going to be content with mere survival
You don't know it's going to be the final fee because it's dependent on appearances, goals scored, success, that type of thing. In reality, he's not got much of any of those, so we'll probably have not paid more than half the supposed £500k for him. These fees are accurately described as 'worth up to X'.
It was difficult for a player like Clayton to impress under Warnock as the football played was direct, and 9 times out of 10 resulted in Lonergan playing it long to Becchio. Hard to make an impact when the midfield is bypassed like that. Not to mention the cheap and pathetic attempt to replace Howson failed when Delph was injured and sent back so he was playing with Brown the majority of the time, who to be fair did well, but not exactly the best 2 man midfield.
only my opinion. Obviously at the end of the season NW decided he wasn't worth the money he wanted so transferred him. Personally I'm very disappointed he's gone.
