Exactly my thoughts, while I accept he might not fit into this seasons plans why not give him a new contract and see how he develops over the next few months? I am sure a place on the bench would have seen him chomping at the bit to prove his worth in trying to get a place in a starting 11 pushing for promotion. I think we need some positive news sooner rather than later, please don't let this be the writing on the wall that we don't and won't have money to bring in anything other than freebies unless players are sold. Green for Clayton, Drury for White and Pearce - Not yet exactly showing Snoddy that we have any great ambition is it??
I think the players we have brought in and rumoured to be bringing in are an improvement on the positions minus Clayton. Pearce for O'dea Kenny for Lonners Drury for Connolly. The back 5 has potential to be one of the best in the league and the squad so far isn't complete and is quite young. You need experience heads and we have that in Brown, Drury and potentially Kenny.
I'd think anyone with there asset value would be able to pass/hoodwink the FPPT. I take your point but I'm a cynical bastard
Morning Cheese, ristac, enoch, Kissa Yep Dury is a left back, but has played on the right. Put Peltier in there and I honestly think thats one of the best back line in the championship. A secure midfield and we will be hard to beat. Would like to see another winger and striker come in, we need a centre mid & a right back as well though! Dont think the robbie rogers will be ready for pre season so he remains untested really. Stop start career for him & we still dont know if he can cut it! Somma out of pre season as well, so if McCormack goes & Paynters clearly not in Warnocks plans who does that leave us with? dont think we will be seeing anything of Poleon yet, even though I rate him nows not the time to throw him in if it can be helped. Roll on this takeover, because the way we are moving around money ie. sell then buy (hopefully) and the targets we are looking at points to no money what so ever. Surely Warnock wouldnt have signed up for that? I heard we rejected a offer from Bolton as well for Lonners. Obviously we need that money before getting Kenny in and Bolton didnt reach our valuations, thats an example of us pushing the cash around rather than dipping into our 'war chest'
We've been linked with DJ Campbell. Be a good signing for this level. Hopefully Somma can come back like before he was injured but perform from the beginning. Norris and Varney would be good signings.
Takeover a long way off. Price for club has been agreed (£40M) Price for ER & TA has NOT been agreed (owned by a string of companies owned by Mrs Suzannah Bates) and offer is £25M but the Bates want £30M Another sticking point is £2M of legal fees owed by KB which he wants new owners to pay for - new owners say no way Hosey. My optimism is slowly drifting away, if it wasn't for the ongoing takeover I don't think any of us would be that happy with the current situation. If we're serious re promotion why have we sold one of our better young players to an already strong looking Huddersfield outfit and made them even stronger, at the same time weakening ourselves? I know we're all clinging on to the takeover rumours but until it actually happens we're looking very weak. It's looking imperative now that it happens sooner rather than later, even if it were to go through today Warnock will have his work cut out assembling a promotion chasing squad in time for pre season. It's all very worrying.
this is a great read http://news.arseblog.com/2012/07/full-text-of-usmanov-letter-to-the-arsenal-board/
Why do people still believe anything TC has to say about the takeover? He makes up a new piece of bollocks every couple of days.
You could be right Simon, notice that the longer this goes on,the chirpier they get, damn cockney peasants!
Wrong. A price has been agreed in principle. Look at it this way, why would you bother going through DD before agreeing a price was agreed. You could just be wasting your time
RT @SkySportsPeo: Appleton: “I believe Luke's (Varney) been in talks with Leeds. Whether that (move) will happen this weekend or next week, we'll see." #LUFC
I agree, that is the way it works & TC is winding us up. BUT I can imagine the deal being done in principle and then Bates saying that Thorp Arch is extra, or your have to rent the pavillion etc and playing hard ball.
