That was a quiet session really, accept a few spins and that's about it, hoping for more drama in FP2 ;)

Kimi's incident seemed a little more different don't you think, from the exit of the chicane to the entry of the pits in Canada, you can see why it is dangerous.
But Kobayashi was travelling at a dead speed, and he was very close to the pit entry anyway.Hmm.

This will be well worth it I suspect, because with bugger all Friday running and probable wet quali and race, everything will get thrown up in the air. I'm looking to forward to tomorrow's quali more than any other so far this season.

3 sets of extreme wet tyres for the whole weekend with rain very likely for FP3, Quali and the Race. I'd be very suprsied if any of the top teams do a lap this session. There is also an experimental hard tyre that Pirelli brought along, of all the races to bring it they chose Silverstone <doh>

I draw a Scottish driver, in conditions that should be ideal for him, and he is in effect sitting in the dry because his bosses want him to keep his boots clean <steam>

I can see a dry line appearing... and by dry I mean grasping at straws dry.

oh, so Alonso and FI didnt go out to save wet tires and have an advantage but now pirelli are saying they can bring more wet tires!!! so Ferrari and FI have wasted some running time.

Surely Force India can veto that if they want?

I was under the impression that you can't do this sort of thing mid-event unless there is unanimity.

Always good to see the tire cords holding onto the tyres and doing their job in a heavy impact like that

This is what happens when you keep denying a driver FP1; they have to push harder in the other sessions to try and make it up :(.

oopsie Alonso. Thats the new front wing written off but the back end went it pretty softly so there shouldn't be much damage there.

Bit of a shambles with the tyres. If I knew on Monday that torrential rain was forecast starting today, why didn't they? They should have planned ahead for this. Tickets cost a fortune and, aside from the teams getting little or no running, fans must be feeling pretty short changed.
