I am not surprised. If we are being beaten for signatures by teams lower down the league and with all the take over action still settling down is it something to consider. Also our nameless manager may already have an Italian in thought. Stephen McGinn is a different question. He will probably stay now MM has not moved to take him to Wales.
New owners pulled out of the deal apparently - are 'looking elsewhere'. Wonder if that means a Serbian or Pole on loan.
Tells a big story, the guy was on a free but we must have a better option in the wings, the suspense is killing.
Suspense is pissing me off actually. The deafening silence from the Pozzos and their henchmen is seriously dampening my enthusiasm for the new season. In fact the whoe deal is. I was lloking forward to progression with Dyche at the helm of a team that, baring the opening 13 games of last season, was on play-off form. Dyche apparently sacked, no word from the club. Heaton signing dropped, no word. No new manager, just Pozzo gobbing off in the Italian press. It is stupendously disrespectful, and if I hadn't already got our season tickets I would seriously consider not renewing. A lot of club stalwarts are not going to fit the new regime - and I reckon that wholesale changes by a new 'name' manager who doesn't understnd this league could have us in real trouble. Apparently, if those ITK are to be believed, the Pozzos have saved us from liquidation. I suppose this gives them carte blanche to do what the hell they like, but to me we seem to be losing the soul of the club. rant over
Good on yer Harrow! At last someones woken up out of Gosh Must Be OK We're Watford suburban mentality.Even Mr Mackay has to brought into it now(I think all this rains his fault really),maybe this goalkeeper didnt fancy a club where theres such doubt wots going on ?? All sit passively and take wotever the 'Club' throws at yer....Harrow, you and me enquire about admission prices at that Kenilworth ?? (well you first!)
A valid rant, we're relieved at the club being rescued though theres still no evidence we had anything to be rescued from yet, all just rumour and heresay. We're managerless at present if rumours are correct, we've got a bunch of gaps to fill on the playing side and an unknown structure on the coaching side. The promised land is still a bit away yet, I'm still optimistic but its hope over reality at present.
Yes, I really am. There are other virtues to be supported in a football club other than winning at all costs. I was always proud of Watford for the way they brought kids through, the involvement of the club in the community, the idea of being a family club. The sacking of Dyche and almost more so the totally disrespectful way the club has handled it makes me slightly ashamed. Fans of other clubs are, in some ways rightly, moving us from the category of 'decent club, do things the right way' to 'the poor man's Man City/Chelski' The crowing and pant-wetting enthusiasm I see from some posters on this and other forums reminds me of Brighton fans at the start of last season when they were giving it large, and boy did we feel contempt for them.
Funny you should say that, used to watch them Stones alternate weeks to those 'Orns. No good any more tho.,those days they actually played in the area (Lower Mead behind cinema), 80 years on arent they now based miles from their name? (Bedford ? or opposite Old Trafford ??)
I get a lot of what you're saying harrow. Just because I think the owners are a million times better than Bassini, and potentially one of the best things to ever happen to us, doesn't automatically make everything they do okay. I think Nani might have made the right decision by accident with Heaton, because I genuinely believe that Bond should be backup to whoever we get from Udinese.
Quite a good view of things from the Rookery. http://fromtherookeryend.blogspot.co.uk/2012/07/italian-job-take-2.html
yep, very good as ever. Though as harrow said, there is a certain amount of shame felt about the way 'the club' have dealt with Sean Dyche...a price to be paid for stability maybe, but it was a very high price to pay, and not the best decision imho.
