OK with the Reading game moved, we are not getting a lot of feedback here. I propose we have the Dublin meet up for the Man City game on Saturday 1st September. I also propose that the best game to go to as a group would be the Southampton game on 17th November. Looking at flights with Aer Lingus to London Gatwick, Dep 08.50 hrs, arr 10.10 hrs. Sunday 18th Nov Dep 16.50 hrs arr 18.10 hrs. Price 77 euro approx. Aer Lingus have a little sale on at the moment so I wouldn't expect those prices to last very long. If we agree on the game proposed, we can check hotels later. If anybody has any better proposals, I am all ears.
Yeah Finglas agree with that post.. It would be nice to watch the man city game without bricking it for the whole game.... and the southampton game would be good and there is a bit of time between both dates.. Im all for those dates just need to apply for leave from the missus..............
I'll agree with the Irish QPR guru finglas, southampton away. I'll get back to you on the Dublin meet as I might be working. the wedding season should be starting to wind down so I'll try and get it off. as a matter of curiosity is there anyone from England planning to travel to the Dublin event?
Hmmm, £20 return Ryan Air from Luton to Dublin on 1st Sep. Tempting indeed. But flight doesn't get in until 16:20. I might just make it for the kick off if you choose a bar near the stop for the airport bus. Or a hotel with a good bar attached even better.
buses go straight from the airport straight into the centre aaaagggghhh. come on you know you want to. the exchange rate is in your favour too!
if we drinking in capel st, there's a great b+b nearby called the kingfisher. it's not 5* or anything but they do have a car park and the best breakfasts I've ever had in Dublin. very reasonable too. I'm staying there in October for a gig I'm going to in the Olympia.
Guys The Saints game is a super suggestion considering that the Reading game is now causing probs. If we agree to this match we can book the cheap tickets ASAP. Unfortunately i am only home in Ireland on leave from 1-29 Aug. Then i have to come back to Middle East for a few weeks until mid Sept, so there is no way i can make the City game. If you all decide on that fair play, work away. If you decide on any other game i will be there with bells on. PS Finglas, i travel the country watching my beloved cats, and i think it's only gas that the slagging is coming from a Dub fan who has probably never seen Dublin play a Champ game outside Croke Park. The last time ye boys travelled south ye wrecked the train.
I'll pick you up from the airport QPAAAAGH. It will only take about 20 minutes from the airport to city centre. All welcome!!!!!
Who's slagging NUTS? I have seen every hurling championship game that Dublin have played the past 4 years. Home and away. I have been to Thurles twice, Kilkenny, Portlaoise and Tullamore and I will be in Ennis this weekend also. As regards wrecking trains, I know the Dublin footballers attract an element but the hurling fans are some of the best behaved I have ever seen. They are real supporters who are not there for the booze up. I have seen Tipperary and Limerick fans giving them stick and on both occasions, they behaved impeccably. You must be talking about Dublin football supporters? I support the footballers too but I accept there are a minority who might fit into the bracket of wrecking trains etc.
Keep looking? Lol. Try, Maldron Hotels, Jurys Inns, Bewleys, D4 Hotels, Travelodge, Days Inns, etc etc etc
Can't give an answer on the Southampton game until next week. Also unclear about 1/9 in Dublin at present. Will advise as soon as I can.
