what great people sad to see them leave they been great for us over 3years sadly missed. http://www.canaries.co.uk/page/NewsDetails/0,,10355~2832784,00.html
villa have paid their contracts up. i'd suggest that is the least they could do seeing as they took lambert for nowt (until the court decision)
What the-? And just after I'd just stuck six hundred quid on Culverhouse taking over from Lambert as our new manager at 9/4
Inevitable but sad, particularly sad about Cully, who was a big player for the club during one of our most successful spells, would have been interesting to see how Lambert got on without him.
I'm sure PL must be breathing a HUGE sigh of relief. At least he won't be now!!!! I would have preferred them to stay personally.
Yeah I would agree, would be very interesting to see how Lambert does without them. I still think Lambert might not do that well at Villa. Not in a bitter sense but I just think there squad is poor and the fans seem to think they should be in Europe, I don't think their squad is better than ours to be honest. And they just signed a poor mans Youseff Safri.
I must admit, going by the earlier statements, I thought the club were being a bit peevish in saying they were keeping them. I don't believe for one moment CH wanted them and they probably didn't want to work with him either. Managers invariably take their back room staff with them. Hence Bond and Jordan leaving Spurs this week. Whether it was our way of fronting up to Villa and Lambert I don't know but I'm glad the silly business is closed. Now we really can look forward to the new dynasty that Chris and the boys are about to create.
Well Villa paid off their contracts but I think compo will be settled in court either way, us holding out on Culverhouse and Karsa to try and get compensated for Lambert was never really wash as they probably knew Culverhouse and Karsa want to leave and Hughton doesn't want them. We will more likely get the money we deserve from the tribunal to be honest, my opinion anyway.
Can't help but feel (and cross fingers) that the three o them might flounder at villa. He will be managing a very different animal - in that they have a few Charlie big potatoes - he's never managed a Charlie big potatoes before and it will be interesting to see if he has as much success with his past methods at his new club. Bit gutted about cully, but equally feeling very positive our end...can't wait to get started now...
don't really get the thing about wanting them to fail to be honest. i don't really care how they do but it would be nice if they carry on their success and do go on to great things because it will justify all our thoughts that they were destined for the top. i feel no bitterness towards villa - at the end of the day they made the right appointment for their club - had they not gone after lambert they would have got someone worse - they got the best man for the job, just as we have. it was disappointing how it ended on a sour note but then he was hired on a sour note too! if villa finish above us then fair play - as long as we stay up, i won't care.
I don't want him to fail at all, I wish him the best. I just have a feeling that the fans at Villa expect too much and that is Lambert's biggest challenge. I just have a feeling he will have a tough time.
