Just been on the news that the Germans don't like Rangers either, their pre-season tour has been cancelled.

No Huns to the land of the Hun?

Gambol you are one of the more rational huns on here; go back to a point I've made on several occasions because no one on your side has even atempted to answer it.

How can it be the same club as the old one when the registered name of the new club (also that on the team badges and memorabilia) is different? How can it be the same club when the name on future trophies will be different than the name on trophies Rangers won in the past?

Imagine a www.compareyourfootballclub.com where fans could buy season tickets dependent on their means and what they expected from their team.

Infact don't imagine it, I've already patented it! Bringing football to the masses dependent on your wealth :)

Simple. It's a footbal club to me. Not the legal and corporate requirements needed to perform the day to day running of the club. . It's still "Rangers" to me.

I would think that (if we're playing anywhere) our opposition will still think of us as Rangers. Admittedly, mainly for pish ripping reasons for the forseeable future (if there is one).

It's not outwith the realms of possibility that we won't be playing anywhere next season and Green decides to sell off the assets and the squad, such as it is, and there would be nothing left but fans with nothing to support. That truly would be a defunct club.

A few people I know (mainly Celtic fans) have said exactly that. Someone I heard on the radion a couple of days ago, I think it was the chairman of the SPL when it split and became the SPL in 2002, said he thinks the best way for the fans to sort the mess out is to make their own application to the SFL, start their own team and rent Hampden for the first couple of years. That would force Charles green to sell it back to them eventually but it means they would be in control of the club and would run it as they see fit.

I think that's a good idea even though I expect Green would have sold off Ibrox and Murray Park to developers long before the fans raised the money for a buy-out of his assets. But as this guy said, it's the fans that make the club and not the bricks and mortar, so who really needs Ibrox?

    Just a thought

Green bought assets. Ten minutes ago you said the club existed on an existential level. Now you are indicating the assets are the club and that failure to avail of those assets would mean the club is defunct.

One of those assets was not transferred to Green, that was the league share. That will not be used. Does that mean that Rangers are " a bit dead?"

I said the club was more than a corporate entity. You also need a league to play in, a stadium to play in, and a team to play. And the fans of course, which are the heart and soul of the club.

If ALL of the tangibles are gone you are left with nothing. Truly defunct.

IF Rangers did go defunct, would you start supporting an English club? or would you move on to another Scottish club, that is possibly the biggest question regards to sustainability in the Scottish game.

I think they would start supporting Celtic, with MoJo as peacemaker between the warring factions.

No. The corporate part has been replaced by another. The old part is undergoing liquidation. The new one has taken over the day to day running of the club.

We also still have a team to play (such as it is) and a stadium to play in. All we need now is a league <laugh>
