Im wrighting this article to find out if im being unrealistic!

When i go into work i try and give 100% as i know if i dont then eventually it will be noticed, also i will try to do my best as i believe if i were paying someone to do a job then in turn i would expect that they put in 100% also!

I earn a modest wage and scrape by every month and have to make sacrifices now and again if i want something that isnt in my monthly budget. Some people dont have a job but if they did would give 100% every day and just be happy to be bringing in the money and surviving!

I understand everyone has an off day here and there, maybe they dont feel well or whatever and im not perfect and have too had these off days from time to time, everyone is human!

HOWEVER! What i am seeing at Sunderland Football Club is really boiling my P_I_S_S, These footballers and there manager get paid huge sums of money to train a few times a week and stay healthy, watch what they eat and play 90 mins of football once a week, maybe twice if they can be arsed with a cup run!! Anyone on the planet would jump at the chance of such a job! I have to graft a whole year to earn what the average Sunderland player earns in a ****in week!

This slump is just unacceptable simple as that! It is clear to me and everyone i think that something is wrong! I dont know what it is, could be Bent leaving, maybe the players dont like Bruce anymore, maybe theres a devide with the player etc..........

The fact is they need to ****in sort it out and ****in grow up and play for the right of our respect and start to realise they are very fortunate and have no reason on earth to feel not confident or down! Theres people in wheelchairs for ****s sake!

I believe its not all Bruces fault as it is the players who kick the ball around however the buck does stop with him and it is clear he can not motivate them to save his life! So we need to get rid in the summer and its a simple as that, no one is bigger than the club!

So should we expect 100% everytime?

    I think so!

    Are we getting it?

    I think not!

    5 from me mate.

It's like when people say certain players have had a long hard season.
    No they ****ing haven't!
A guy working at the pit face for a whole year has had a hard ****ing season.
Jesus I used to graft 50 to 60 hours a week at hard manual labour, still played a couple of games at weekends, usually still pissed off the night before.
But never gave less than 100%, with only my team mates to worry about not a crowd.
I have said this before to see players walk off the pitch without a bead of sweat at the end of a match, I would withhold their wages.
AND! if they jogged off after getting beat I would fine them!

I agree. To play a game of football each week and do nothing else but train for a couple of hours a week, whilst getting paid more than practically everybody in the country warrants at least a bit of effort. At the Man City game for example, the defenders just couldn't be arsed to mark anybody, and instead passed the ball to Silva! I don't really care if they give a **** about the club, I just want them to do their job!

It's not a lack of effort, it's a lack of talent. A large number of the players aren't good enough. They've been found out as poor PL players.

To me it is totally obvious that these bunch of overpaid lazy t0ssers are just feeling sorry for them selves and have absolutley no concern for the fans and what we put in too!

    Makes me sick!

They dont know their born and havent got a clue what a hard days graft is!

The players try hard, it's just a large number of them are a fair distance from being top 10 PL players. Fans always talk about a lack of effort from the players when things are going wrong. Everytime Sunderland have a bad run it's attributed to a lack of effort. I wish it were only a lack of effort. In reality, in almost every case it's a lack of ability or at least a horrendously set-up team. 100% effort gets you nowhere in the PL if it's not backed up by some pretty serious ability. I thought after all the years fans would realise this by now.

I genuinely believe they're putting in 100% effort, yes. You can't go onto a field for a PL game of football with some of the players we have, man! Look at our midfield, look at our fullbacks. Are Man City players putting in more effort than our players? Balotelli etc? Are they ****. Ability, mate, it's always about ability. In the case of Balotelli, mind, he's **** as well as having the worst attitude of any known footballer.

Well thats where we dissagree then pal, the last 3 games show absolutley no effort as far as i can see, we have just rolled over in the Liverpool and Man City games and kind of had a go in first half of WBA game and somehow got ourselves in front at half time only to roll over again and blow it!

Been the same for a vast part of the season till now, we must have given away more points from a leading position than any other team and i know we have scored nearly the least goals too so if ya can score ya better make sure ya can defend and this is why we were in a good position only because of our defense first half of season but now its as if they cant be arsed and think there safe already plus theres too many loanies in the team, far too many!

Yeah but look at the likes of Stoke and Bolton. I can't honestly say that they have a better squad in terms of potential quality than ours but because of their effort (maybe style of play) they make life difficult for all teams and they never go on runs like we have done in the last 2 seasons. Going so many games without a win or even a draw at the minute is not acceptable. I dont know what the answer is, Bruce to stay or go? but i am very very worried. I do think that there are 3 teams that will not get as many points as us but the way we are going I dont want it going down to the wire as at the minute we appear to have a team of bottlers. I appreciate that in January we went for a more stylish type player but because of injuries and lack of strength in midfield we clearly needed an established premier league 'battler', as well as an actual centre forward as we had 1 fit player at the time. It does ruin your week!!!

What do you want the players to do? They have to play within the rules of the game. Do you want Cattermole to run over and outright punch Laarson in the face in our next game? There's no balance or ability within the team and this leads to "headless chicken" syndrome. Players become exasperated with themselves and each other. They are fighting but this means absolutely nothing when we're playing the worst standard of football in the league, and we're playing the worst standard by a CONSIDERABLE difference. There's a game of football to play out there, man. The other teams are also giving 100%, but they're making a greater attempt to actually play the game. Sometimes terrible football appears to the fans that the players aren't trying, it's just not the case. It's far more serious than that, i'm afraid.

Are you suggesting that we're playing better football than Bolton? Don't make me laugh. Our football is ugly. We are to the PL what Anne Widdecombe is to attractive women, mate. As for Stoke, they may not have players of individual brilliance, but there team is set-up to play their style i.e the long ball. Even so, have to seen a Sunderland player do what Ethrington did at the weekend? People need to come to terms with the fact a number of our players that are playing every week, aren't good enough and never will be good enough. Those people hailing Bardsley do not realise how much having him playing LB when we have no left winger absolutely kills us.

Keane, I can't agree with you there. We have a good squad, players like Gyan, Welbeck, Catts, Sess, Muntari, Henderson etc. should be playing better than they are right now. They've shown that they are world beaters, they're just not putting their shift in.

No, what I was saying was that on paper our players are better (in my opinion) but because the likes of Bolton and Stoke play as a team, battle together with team spirit, they are harder to beat.

Well I 100% disagree with you mate.

Other people rate Ricco, having previously watched Richardson wander round contribute nothing and do absolutely no covering back, in games too numerous to mention. Just a little bit of effort from him could have disrupted the play or forced a mistake. Haven't seen the WBA game so no idea how he did then.
That extra effort from each player whoever they are does make a difference.
To just stand and watch is unforgivable.
After watching **** teams over the last 50 years put more effort in than our team lately, I find your last sentence slightly disingenuous.

Its simple, players arent pulling their weight and the manager hasnt got a clue with tactics and motivation!

I think the players are frustrated with Bruce and cant understand his constant strange tactics and team selections and playing players out of natural position however i expect them to ****in get on with it and try their best!

Thats all im saying and the point im trying to make!

I expect 100% and dont think its too much to ask for!

I also think that first half of the season we were closing the opposition down at every oppertunity and making the other team make mistakes then when we had the ball we were passing and moving at the same time and everyone wanted the ball!

Now that is simply just not happening!

I dont think its ****in rocket science to be honest just the basics and if Bruce thinks he went back to basics for the WBA game then i think he went a bit far back to basics like when the players first began to walk and string a sentence together!
