Honestly .... so may good threads just go down the toilet these days with stupid unrelated crap. I too much time on these boards sifting through stuff with guys bitching at one another..... its beginning to not be fun anymore.
Tipperary, it's not unrelated, it's to do with St Pauli which someone chose as their preferred non-QPR club. I'm examining why that choice was made. Hardly out of the blue sniping, is it? If you're bored by the argument, scroll past it. It takes what, five seconds to do that? While we're at it, maybe you could explain your Celtic preference? Not attacking you, just interested in your motivation for that. Sooperhoops, football isn't the place for politics in my opinion. That's what it boils down to really. Even as an anarchist (and therefore, I suppose, a non-conformist), I'd feel embarrassed if Leeds had a culture of waving (A) flags and singing anti-government ****. Keep that stuff for demonstrations. And yes, I am embarrassed by the nationalistic tendency of some (especially old-school) Leeds fans and the tedious songs/attitudes that brings with it.
Apologies, my fault should have just ignored him. Sooper has provided all explanation necessary - great post mate.
Well that's fine then, just breeze over all the well-evidenced and valid points I made and say you're a 'non-conformist' like that justifies everything. I know it's best to duck out of an argument before you're comprehensively beaten in it, but at least have the grace to admit it.
Hayes & Yeading FC because they were local and always NEARLY on the verge of League football as Hayes FC. Les Ferdinand links and my lad was in the Youth set up Now Im up north, St Neots Town FC, who currently have Stefan Moore banging them in for fun. St Neots have risen through the leagues over past few seasons, with some great backers, and are now only 1 league away from Hayes & Yeading ............ what will I do then ? ?
I'm the only one who's consistently made an effort in this argument, the rest has just been assumptions and ad hominems from Swords, some vague and undeveloped rebuttal from Sooperhoop and some half-arsed dodges from FFS.73. Poor show, C- for the debating skills on show from the QPR fans as Jerel wheels away with the trophy.
That's ok Jerel, we've far more irrelevant things to discuss and Swords seems to be having the night off...
Superb. Back to the original question then, outside of LUFC, I like to see any Yorkshire sides doing well. With Grayson and maybe a couple of our current players at Huddersfield next season, it would be good to make a playoff push alongside them. Glad to see York, Barnsley, Donny and Hull punching above their weights as well.
Fort William FC. Read a piece on them a few years back. A team thrown together with local lads in the highlands of Scotland. Pretty much always lose (1 win and four or so draws last year). I do go for underdogs, don't I? Although that is changing for the Hoops, innit? Urrrrrrrrrs!
I have a soft spot for Wednesday , the mighty fallen. Always a spare 15,000 spare tickets available at an given match
I don't have a soft spot for any team, although I do find myself rooting for a team in any match I watch. Usually the underdog.
I don't have to as you've revealed that yourself. Another armchair warrior who probably relished the times when the people in the North of Ireland were slaughtering each other. (All from the comfort of your living room in Yorkshire of course). Its funny you didn't mention the Orange Brigade of Rangers in your little rant. But that would have required balance and fairness so it was never going to happen. I used to like you Jerel but its clear you're just a narrow-minded moron. Well done on ruining a good thread by the way.
