I wouldn't say the 20-30m is limited, I mean we can't buy Carroll but you know there may be other players that are close to being as good as him for that fee.

True, and that is something for some our fans who are in the RVP camp to think about. These people are blaming the board,Wenger and etc, yet RVP has in a way ****ed us over with his actions today. It will no doubt hurt his legacy, but I doubt he gives two ****s about that. I just hope the club will stay strong and find a solution to a tricky situation.

Looking on Twitter it appears it's RVP who's getting the flak not the club

    That's a fair point I will admit.

My gut feeling is that, and he isn't as young as Nasri, is you will be lucky to get more that 15 for him. His performance in the Euro's won't help either.

Talk about fickle fans. The man gives Arsenal Champions league football this season and he gets cussed? Why don't you all just calm down and think before saying we should sell our best player. Even if we were to sell him, I'm presuming that Giroud will be the natural successor to RVP's CF position. You think he'll be able to do the business in his first season of Premiership football? The guy has had 1 good season in the French league, that would be a huge risk. What about a backup CF, we don't have one! The Pod can only do so much and Walcott won't have the same service from Giroud as RVP gives him.

Unless it's escaped your mind but Man U and Chelsea are significantly strengthening over this summer transfer window. Also Spurs will be an unknown quantity with AVB in charge.

That doesn't change the fact that he hurt the club with that statement.

If he had kept his mouth shut, and told them privately he wants to leave, Arsenal would retain the bargaining power. We would sell him for a respectable price and have a chance to do something with it.

Now every interested club will know we are lucky to get anything for him.

The lad wants some medals before he gets too old , nowt wrong with that.

He tried hard enough to achieve that with us but it aint happened.

    Good luck to the lad.

We have to sell, there is no point keeping him if he's got 1 foot out of the door already.

But they also know that we will keep him and let his contract expire if we don't get a decent offer. That would really be a disaster for him.

I really don't get why players think trophies are such a big deal. I don't think most fans give a hoot which players happenned to be an over-the-hill hanger on, at a club that won a trophy. Beckham gets very little credit for his La Liga title for example. If RVP goes to Man City and wins, playing in 20 games for the season, no one will care. His golden boot with Arsenal (in my opinion) counts for far more.

What do you want him to say then? IF he loves the club and his family love it in London, why else would he leave? If he didn't say anything then everyone would say he's after the money, something that was farthest from the truth. Our club lacks ambition and he's just highlighted the problem. All the rest left for that reason, but didn't want to tell the truth. At least he's trying to shake things up with this administration....

No one is disputing that. He has handled it very disrespectfully.

Even Nasri didn't make such a definitive statement before we got a certain buyer. He has hurt the club's bargaining power. end of.

The club wouldn't respond like that if this statement hadn't hurt our position.

He has actually helped us though with this, he's not happy with the way the club is going, and his message has basically told Wenger and Gazidis to change.

Are you that thick? He kept his mouth shut for months, a few more weeks wouldn't change anything. He could give a private definite answer that he won't extend, and the club (he so much respects) would have a chance to do something with it.

He completely devalued himself in the market, and Arsenal will be hurt by that not him. (you know that club he wants the best for...)

I wouldn't be surprised if his manager instructed him to do this at this time, so as to increase Juventus' bargaining power...

Seriously, how much do you thnk we'll get for a 29 year old with only 1 year of his contract left? Around 15-20m max. Champions league money would bring over 20m+ We would have a much better chance getting top 4 than with Giroud. Guaranteed!

He certainly stuck around when he was spending the majority of his time on the treatment table

No player is bigger than a club, sell him and move on quickly. I'm sure PSG or City will pay over the odds for him.

You're talking about money and i'm talking about a man that loves the club and was probably given dud promises from the management. A man that truly loves the club would try and change things than keep quiet. Things are not right at Arsenal and he's just trying to change things. Personally the money means jack, as we will NEVER get a player close to his ability. We are better off keeping him.
