"Difference is we say Rio was a fool, you say Suarez was a victim."

Suarez was a fool alright, And Kenny.

Should have kept their mouthes shut just as Slurgusson and Schmeical did over the ian wright accusation. Had Suarez not openly admitted using the word negro, for whatever reason, the only thing the FA would have had was Evra's ever-changing version of events and ..... well absolutely nothing.

Sorry, can't think of a man who races up to a South American opponent and calls him a sudaca and to go and f00k his sister in Spanish (his third language) as a victim either, even though a semi-professional industry of the self-righteous, single-issue pressure groups and hypocrites like Paul Mcgrath (Atkinson support) and Luther Blissett got their 15 minutes by suggesting otherwise. And yes, Suarez was treated abyssmally and in a manner that wouldn't have happened in a real court.

Third time lucky for evra though. :emoticon-0112-wonde

What relevance has any of this?

The OP pointed out that our pursuit of a new manager was subject to intense scrutiny by the media and labelled "chaotic" because it wasn't carried out in full view. By contrast, Spurs pursuit of the same position has been allowed to take its course without any of the criticism applied to us.
    To which you replied;
What bearing has that comment on the OP?
None of the subsequent meanderings can obscure the fact that your original comment was aimed at the original post.
Are you saying the OP was untrue? Because the facts are there for all to see. The reason is debatable, of course- which is what we were doing, if you have any contribution to make to that debate then go ahead.
If we say it's because we're a bigger club than Spurs, we're accused of being arrogant and deluded, if we say it's irrational then we're accused of playing the victim. If you have another explanation for the media treatment then offer it.
Your comment is one that gets dredged up repeatedly without any thought- it's like a cut and paste of the mind. "Oh, Scousers complaining again, cue the 'outraged' response"
We are a disparate bunch on here, would you care to suggest what we should have a collective sense of shame over? Is there something dreadful that we can all be held personally responsible for?
Outraged, in what way? To me, outrage conjures up an image of someone feverishly pounding a spittle-flecked keyboard. I can assure you I'm not doing that.
Ashamed? No-I have nothing to be ashamed about (well nothing football related)
Outraged? No- but I am heartily sick of all this ****.

Calm, articulate detailed response. Can this become a emoticon that we can use every time a twat like him comes on and spouts generic, dated, accusations?

We are hated now so we've become a great target for the media. Plus there is the point that nobody really cares about Spurs despite them being pretty good now.

    Oh well.

laughing at LFC fans, Heysel had English football supporters there to cause trouble, why on earth it was anything in particular to do with the clubs is beyond me. These scum operated outside of what can be classed as supporter, they went to cause trouble hooliganism has very little to do with football

Scum are scum, there were scum on both sides in Heysel I wastched it myself and the police were the bigest failure of all and it gave the eurotrash the chance to banish dominating english teams from europe when Germany Italy and Holland had far far worse hooliganism at that time. Italy still has terrible holliganism problems.

Scum and nothing to do with LFC the club or team or its loyal hardworking supporters I fell no shame for someting scum from another country did

Good point, but that very thing was totally and conveniently overlooked by the Thatcherite press in the aftermath in the concerted effort to demonise Liverpool.

  18. The club also raised concerns about Hillsborough prior to the match happening but, as you rightly said, it was all overlooked by the British media <ok>

PS - I can only vaguely remember Hillsborough (was only just eight at the time) but I've done quite a bit of reading on it over the years so know a bit more about that than Heysel. Kenny mentions both disasters in both of his books and mentions that the club (and inparticular Peter Robinson) warning UEFA and the FA prior to Heysel and Hillsborough respectively <ok>

I remember the meeting between Robinson,Uefa officials,Juve reps and the head of Belgian police at Heysel a few weeks prior to the final.

As well as telling them the stadium's condition never met safety conditions he also pointed out that by giving Juve a third of the terracing Liverpool fans were allocated they were creating a flashpoint in light of what had happened a season earlier in Rome when many Liverpool fans were stabbed after the final.

But as it transpired it fell on deaf ears with deadly consequences.
