Can't keep. He is meant to be our captain, and if he is not willing to commit/stay then how the **** is he supposed to lead the other players?
exaclty i only kept this poll as i recall quite a few wanting to keep him irrespective of his stance. He has let the club down badly in response for all the injury prone years we have put up with. No respect and worse than nasri imo.
by announcing his intention on top of us investing in the squad hes played his cards which he obvioulsy intended to do from the start. We survived without nasri, fabregas, flamini, adebayor and others why cant we without a demotivated rvp.
Sell the ungrateful ****. We stuck by him through his injuries and his troubles with the law and after one good season he wants to jump ship? I agree with the above poster; he's no better than that complete **** Nasri. If we reinvest in a top striker, a CAM and a DM, I believe we can make up the goals and chances he created plus ship less goals as well.
He has made his feeling clear in such a PUBLIC way. He has done it for a reason. I see no way back from here.
****!!! Just saw the news i might have to change my vote. But only issue is who can we sell him too. I don't want him going to city or chelsea and all the other big clubs, bar Juve at 8mn, are not interested. We won't get anything much for him unless the big spanish or German clubs are interested. How about RVP and some cash for gotze? Also would be interesting to find out who he is going to, I am guessing with such a public statement he has already talked to some clubs.
Just read his full statement. I have a really bad feeling about this. It seems that in the discussion he had with Gazidas and Wenger, they could not reach an agreement, not on financial terms but on footballing terms. In other words he wanted a demonstration of ambition and they fed him some bullshit about bringing through youth players and self sustainability. If we sell we won't buy a replacement anywhere near the same quality as RVP and we will continue this depressing slow decline. RVP is our last remaining world class player and he looks likely to bugger off. I'm still angry at his lack of gratitude but the board and Wenger are probably largely responsible and seem stuck on their path to mediocrity. ****ing hell.
Yeah seems he is now trying to drive the price down and up the signing and wage bonuses (don't blame him for that get as much as you can). OR It could just be a July Fools joke - they have those right................
isnt that what you would expect rvp to say. I doubt he would say blantantly the motive was financial.
The option to keep him isn't really an option, if he wants to dictate how the club is run, if he stays. Sounds like he wants the payday and is trying to create an excuse to leave with a clear conscience. Well good luck with that Robin, I don't think too many people are going to buy it. When you are alone, injured again and the goals are not going in, nobody is going to feel sorry for you. You may not like how Wenger, Gazardis and Kronke run Arsenal, but I doubt having RVP run it is a better option, even if you agree with him, on whatever particular issue you think it is that is creating his "irreconcilable differences". I don't think the 8M from Juventus was real. It sounded like a completely made up, wind-up the Arsenal fans story from the gutter-press to me.
I am sorry fellas but my feeling is that you already have reinvested the RVP Transfer money on Podolski and Giroud
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...van-Persie-refuses-sign-Arsenal-contract.html I know it's the DM but it's taken from RVPs website.
Well the waiting is over. RvP has issued a statement stating that he isn't signing new contract. Nothing on Arsenal site but I would not expect them to comment so soon to be honest. Question now is do we sell and make a bit of cash or make him stay and take a loss next year?
Well lets see how it develops the dust should be settled by end of July. I personally think leave it be if a big offer comes sell him (outside of EPL) otherwise just concentrate on filling out the squad with a DM, 2nd choice GK and poss an AM. Podolski and Giroud are adequate cover if he leaves till we sign a big striker - Llorente would be a good shout but can't think of many strikers worth buying in our price range
