I'll accept it when it appears on the LFC site. I'm beginning to trust the BBC less and lesss. To me it would appear that he's targetting the begining of the season but giving himself elbow room
I think it could be good for Liverpool in the long term. I said at the start of last season that Lucas was our most important player (most important, not best) and when he got injured it just proved my point. If Lucas won't be ready then it means we start the season without a recognised DM so maybe Rodgers will recruit one giving that particular position more depth? PS - trying to put a positive spin on it PPS - I'd rather Lucas be ready for a return than come back too early
So we could do with strengthening our midfield then think I might go and change my posts on the Mark Davies thread....
That interview says nothing. All I care about is he's happy so far. As for if it turns out he's not fit for start that's irrelevant. Last year showed we need competition/back up for his position anyway. We'll be looking to increase the number of games a year we play a season so can't expect him to do it all. That's how we've burnt out our star players of the last two decades; cheap over reliance.
As ever, we can't believe anything we read so best just to wait and see what happens. I agree that we shouldn't rush him back if he's not ready. We've done that in the past with Gerrard and others-hopefully we've learned from this.
Very different to everything I've read so far. Hmm. Links to Exteberria (sp) of Real Betis today - defensive mid, Spanish, 25, £5-7M probably. Good buy if true, way better than Spearo, and capped twice for Spain in the pre-Euros friendlies.
