QPR Transfer News are intimating that Hargreaves is going to train with us for a Pay As You Play Deal. Still think he has something to offer, even if it is more along the lines of 'this is how you train and play lads' to get the right attitude in the camp.
I see no harm in him training with the lads. If he comes through 8 weeks of being kicked to **** by Chopper Diakite i'd give him a place in the 25.
I don't know how many of you will agree, but if he is going to be used as a back up player, I'd much rather have Owen Hargreaves in my 25 than Shaun Derry
Hence the "back up" term. If Mark Hughes signs him, I'd be under the impression there'd be no injury worries

Watched him come through the Bayern Munich youth set up and play his way to the very top. Was definitely one of my favourites at Bayern. By the time United paid a shedload of money for him he had already been voted England Player of the Year 2006 on the official FA home page after being considered Englands best player during the world cup in 2006. He even managed to score in the penalty shoot out against Portugal, only a shame no other Englishman did... By that time he was Englands best midfielder, something he would still be if it wasn't for all the injuries imo. He had some niggles when playing for Bayern too but what's been going on after he swapped Munich for Manchester nobody knows, bad management of the player springs to mind. I agree with elnino on the injury part, if Mark Hughes believes signing him is worthwhile then it probably is. A one year pay-as-you-play deal with the option of a further year if he reaches at least 15 games sounds a good deal to me. We would finally have a set piece expert, brilliant.
