Why did you start supporting Newcastle? What a very good question that is. Why? WHY?!?!

There's a much nicer club 12 miles down the road which has won just as much over the past 38 years.

I'm assuming you mean Crawley Town, Sid.

That's about 12 miles down the road from where you are.:emoticon-0100-smile

Hey Jim. They are close and I do a lot of shopping in creepy Crawley as it happens. Looks like they are up into the League this year after all the dosh they've spent. But Whyteleafe are my local club, even if they are crap. They had an FA Cup tie a couple of seasons ago and their centre forward didn't show. He was a postie and he'd been nicked for pinching the post that morning!

My Dad n Grandad were both mad about Newcastle United. Had a strip at 3-4 years old and my first memories are of Keegans promotion season and him hopping in that helicopter. Even had a flat cap (NUFC) when I was 8-9 years old !!!! Loved Beardsley n Waddle--when Pedro chipped Corrigan-Jesus that was the best goal I'd ever seen !!!!

Ashamed to admit that when I was very young I was a Villa fan, no idea why I just liked them and even had a Villa strip, then when I was around 9-10 years old my grandad and dad took me to my first Newcastle match and Ive been hooked ever since.

Couldnt imagine following anyone else ever, but sometimes wish I could <laugh>

My dad is a Toon Fan, I was born April 28th, 1988. I started collecting Merlin Premier League stickers in 1993/94 season with the likes of Malcolm Allen, Alex Mathie, Liam O'Brien, Paul Bracewell, Marc Hottiger and Mike Hooper ... I could probably name our entire squad, their positions and numbers at just 5 years old. This was also thanks to Sensible Soccer on the Amiga 600 and the Commodore 64, always picked Newcastle United and updated the strips and player names from the Merlin sticker books.

Went to my first game in 1998, aged 10 with my dad against Crystal Palace in the FA Cup, Given was sent off, we won 2-1 and if I recall correctly Speed and Shearer scored, could have been Speed and Acuna though.

Been hooked ever since then really!!!!

Dad is from Peterlee met my Mam at Newcastle Uni (she's from Northern Ireland) and lived there (and in various different locations in the N/E) ever since.

First really vivid memory of football is Euro 96, first Toon game was a 97 home game Vs Liverpool (Owen scored) and we were ****e!
