Most definitely, but i dont think they match Fox, and despite being fantastic last year im not sure they would have the pace to keep up with the Nani's, Aguero's etc

Not many have the pace to keep up with them. If we're buying players to deal with the best of the Premier League, then that would cost about £250 million in today's prices.

I guess my point is that to stay in keeping with our evolution not revolution ideals, surely we should be aiming to reinforce the weakest positions while still keeping a good proportion of our current team to maintain the sense of momentum and winning mentality. In my opinion, rb, rm, cb, cover cb, gk.

Im not sure if lb or lm would be on that list for me. And buying a player for that position or any other position that doesnt immediately need enforcing will surely be against those evolution not revolution ideals

Perhaps him on the right and lallana on the left cutting in from the wings onto their stronger foot in a deadly spain style 4-3-3

Wingers cutting in only works when the player is comfortable on the other foot too to control and quicky play inside if needed. Leaving our fullbacks alone on the flanks is exactly what we need to avoid and why Lallana would be better centrally than on the wing.

I'd still love us to play 4-2-3-1

Davis
Richardson
Hooiveld
New cb
Fox/Buttner

schneiderlin
Cork

Lallana
Lambert
Lee

Rodriguez

Moderate tongue in cheek with the deadly spain 4-3-3 <whistle>

From a pure numbers point of view we have a lack of left footers. I might be wrong but I think Lee is the only offensive left footer in the squad.

At the back I don't think Harding is rated by Adkins which leaves Fox with young Shaw as cover.

If the right player comes along at the right price we should go for it.

When opportunities arise, it's foolish not to persue them because they aren't top of our priorities list. If Buttner is a player who could do a job for us, we're not going to just let him go to QPR because he isn't a GK/CB.

I agree to an extent, but if we had the oppertunity to buy a 6th striker when we have Lambert Lee Rodriguez Guly and Sharp, would you want to sign him because hes an opportunity? Or would you rather spend the money on a much more needed cb?

I'd go for a slightly different arrangement with Jay Rod wide, Lambert up front and Lallana in the hole. With good movement and defending from the front, I think we can make it work.

Why is everyone writing off Richardson? He was brilliant last year.

I've been trying to bang this drum for a while now.

See Butland now being linked with Spurs after appointment of AVB. Have to say that if I was a player this move would interest me. A settled PL club with a good team on the up and one that would provide a better chance of starting than say Chelsea or Manchester United. Doubt that the player is in a hurry to make a decision. Hope we have a couple of other GKs lined up.

I didn't like the alternating bit :p

Currently this is the direct consequence of some bright spark trying to hard wire into the team that switching the flow of play breaks down the resistance of the opposition and electrifies the game. Crossing the ball in an arc towards a forward line charging towards goal with power against an isolated keeper will shock the opposition fans.
