Some of you guys really do need to adopt a more tolerant approach... Dickplumb's knowledge of our youth players is always interesting to read, as was his post on here... How can anyone construe it was some sort of terrorist attack on the club...?
But not hearing anything good is the equivalent of the everything being bad nowadays. Your post does reassure me further though
I think this is aimed at me. Quite simply suggesting publicly that there is a cash flow crisis when there is no evidence of such being produced is tantamount to an attack. Chinese whispers of cash flow failures cause creditors to demand there money immediately rather than on normal terms, it causes additional costs defending spurious legal actions brought by a creditor being paid a day late and it destabilises any recruitment ongoing by the club in th eplayer department. In the modern era the PFA advise against players signing for clubs with a cash flow crisis since (see Portsmouth, Rangers etc. ) they don't get paid. We are not there as far as anyone is factually aware, so to start that rumour even on a friendly board like this was totally irresponsible. Yes Dick's knowledge of youth squad may be good but finance and the impact of words needs to be understood as well. I wouldn't want to lose him for the former but he must understand that even this forum can be trawled for information by interested or disinterested parties and rumours of that nature have to be quashed unless proven.
Here's me and the lads waiting to get in to Glanford Park last season please log in to view this image
I have not stormed off in a huff,i don't do huffs.I was merely trying to share some information that i had heard from someone AT THE CLUB,not made up by me.To say that what i posted is irresponsible is laughable. What would have been irresponsible is to give you chapter and verse and name the source at the club. Also to suggest that a player would not join us because of what i have posted on a fans forum is equally laughable. There was a cash flow problem, this has now been sorted, long term or short term i don't know.Next time i hear something i will keep it to myself.
Trying to start another rumour,eh, AHLL? We could do with a few more. I think you should remember the case of the late Justin Fashanu who successfully sued the People. The Rag thought they had cleverly got round the laws of libel by saying that Fashanu denied the rumour that he was gay. The Judge however decreed that this was just the same as saying that he was gay. A landmark case!
This is precisely the point, they have no evidence on which to base their assumptions just scraps from social media, a bit of CL here, another website there and they're off. They all claim to have sources deep within the club but never have the guts to name them or provide hard facts. It's all too easy to put up anything on the web and spread rumours and lies and then the gullible believe it. Even worse, when the chips were down how supportive were these people towards Charlton Athletic, all they wanted to do was knock the club down and the gloat over any misfortune, I don't think they're fans but club trolls.
We could always wash our dirty linen in public, which would give a laugh to Millwall and Palace fans.
Miss ? Surely you can only miss something that's gone. Absence makes the heart grow fonder n all that. Are Palace moving to their new 40k seater stadium with aquatic centre in Crystal Palace park this season, or have they just decided to rebrand again instead
