From his OS: STEVE PERRYMAN UPDATE Posted 11th May, 1.30pm There was a very slight improvement in Steve's condition overnight. He remains in intensive care and in a serious but stable condition. The site will be updated with any further developments on Steve’s health.
Heres hoping he makes a complete recovery, a player I always admired and a first class football man get well soon Steve
Good to hear Steve is out of the ICU. Had his first cup of tea, so hopefully on the mend. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18148331
The latest update: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18531018 Apparently now at home recuperating. Great news keep it up Steve.
I am reading a book at the moment about the football life of Alan Gilzean by James Morgan. He interviews Steve Perryman who goes out of his way to help the writer. A little extract will tell you what Morgan thinks of him: Steve had had a bag go missing in the hotel: 'Steve breaks off to take a call about his mislaid bag. The hotel has found it and he is so effusive in his thanks that I wonder if his medal collection is in the bag. It is clear too that this is no act for my benefit. Steve is just one of life's nice guys. Get well soon Steve, we need all the nice guys we can find, in this world.
The Spurs Odyssey website is quoting Steve Perryman as saying today... "Don't have to go back to Plymouth hospital for another year. So I can start gentle exercise in Exeter very soon". Excellent news.
Excellent news SC and on a day of big changes for Spurs let's hope Steve will be going from strength to strength. Come back to WHL to watch a game, the welcome should be worth a big boost to your well-being.
Started following Spurs in 1986, the year Steve left, as a kid I never really saw the significance of Perryman's reign as a Tottenham player. now I do though. Strangely, went to visit my uncle in Oxford that same year and saw Perryman play who were fighting against relegation from the old First division then. Get well Steve. "Even now, when I go over to my mother's house and dig out the old tracksuit tops I wore, it makes the hair stand up on the back of my neck. I like to think i am part of a special family. I am no longer connected with the club on a daily basis, but i'm delighted with every win and sad about every defeat." - Steve Perryman 2001. Steve Perryman
