Had to deal with some big players and egos at Chelsea and was fighting a losing battle towards the end. Think he'll come good as a manager and he could do this with Spurs.

He tried to do EXACTLY what was needed at Chelsea, he perhaps just tried to do it too quickly. If he made a mistake it was attempting to remove all the main dressing room players in one go, rather than phase them and get the majority on board.

He's a great manager and I think Liverpool will regret overlooking him.

Good luck to him I say, he works to a plan which needs defenders to play high up the pitch and to play at pace, something Chelsea had no chance with, he got screwed by player power but think he'll have a more suitable squad to work with at Spurs, big question is can he keep hold of Modric who is fuc*ing class

Not sure Liverpool will regret anything. Once what's his face gets them tippy tappying they should do pretty well.

I think that it is a fantastic appointment. He did exactly what he was asked to do at Chelsea, you can't rebuild a team in half a season though. I'm very sceptical about how DiMatteo is going to do next year, because he needs to start making tough decisions now, he can't just be the good guy who lets Lampard et al have their way.

Let's compare first days on the job:

Di MAtteo will be gone this time next year. He let the old guard have their day in the sun, but it really was a last day.

****'s sake, this ****'s back? Hated his constant use of the word "project", reminded me too much of Pearson.

Probably something to do with Redknapp saying he'd have left for the England job if he'd been offered it one week, and then the next week saying he should be given a new contract so that the players they were looking to sign had some surety about who would be in charge of the club (he only had a year left on his contract).

Redknapp isn't that good anyway. He goes somewhere, spends a **** load of money and wins nothing given the amount he's spent (look at Pompey's debts with just one FA Cup to show for it) and then buggers off before the financial problems take hold.

I thought he was a tit as well. Spurs won't finish top four this season, in fact they'll struggle to make top six.

    IMO.

As soon as he left, Chelsea started winning major cups and picked up form in the league.

I think his pre-Chelsea reputation was falsely high, and in fact the Chelsea job was too big for him.

Should've stuck with Redknapp, but I suspect there was a major bust up between him & Levy.

Either way, he's done bloody well to get this job after making no impact at Chelsea, and in fact managing to look clueless.

I think Harry is a ****e manager but a good whealer dealer in the transfer market. Give hime the same players to work with as someone else and he'll do no better.
Quote Rafael VDV: "Harry's training? He tells us to put some bibs on and run around a bit".

This appointment at Spurs smells of another Ramos saga, It didn't work with him, so I wonder of AVB will do any better.

The thing with Redkanpp is weird really. If you go on a Spuds messagebaord or speak to any of their fans they literally hate him and think him getting the sack is the best thing ever. The media and wider football fans generally however think he is brill and has been hard done by.

Harry upset Levy with his demands simple as. Talksport did a section on it last night and Harry was a gonna long before the end of the season sadly. If AVB fails it will also mean the end of Daniel Levy,, imo.

YES.....But what a day it was in the sun.

Well, IMO, it will be boom or bust situation. With the quality additions being linked with Spurs who knows. One thing in AVB's favour is that he does not have as many egoes to worry about especially when Modric goes.
