I got thoroughly sick and tired of the Queen Mary as every time friends and relatives came to stay we had to take them there...

I could walk around it with my eyes closed before we finally moved again.

My mam's side of the family are all Newcastle to the core, my dad's side are from Laandaan and are a mix of Chelsea and Le Arse. I didn't have a choice really but I was a bit of a rebel so my family weren't the only reason I pledged allegience to the Toon.

Peter Beardsley was probably the biggest influence. Totally amazing and underrated player, world class in fact. God we could do with another Beardsley!

I only saw Pedro mark 2, but my god he could play. Even when Keegan shifted him to midfield, he could still produce flashes of inspiration and edge of the seat goals.

Used to live there, Dad had a season ticket for 15 years. Unfortunately we had to move down south when I was about 5 but always followed the Toon.

I'm sure Pedro Mark 3 would still outshine some of the players we currently have if he wanted to put his boots back on.

Shearer would still be the top striker as well :)

Exactly the reason why I first liked Newcastle. Beardsley will always be my favourite player, absolutely immense and easily the worlds most underrated player.

My dad's friend took us to a Newcastle match at a young age and that had a huge influence on me. Since then I have been in love with NUFC. Only started taking it seriously in the 2003-2004 season though <ok>

I was meant to say it was the second coming! Was only 8 when keegan signed him, I'd only just grasped the concept of being a Newcastle fan when I was 6-7 yrs old so I remember Andy Cole's first season too. Good times! St James' looked so different then as well!

My dad is a Spur's fan who moved up here in the late 80's and has since adopted Newcastle as his second team. He had a season ticket for most of the 90's and early 00's when I was growing up so I just picked it up from him, and before you ask, no I don't like Spurs!

    OT

If that was in 1989 when we lost 2-1.....................I was at that game too with my dad!!!

I had moved down to Bournemouth and my dad came down for the match.

He is the reason that I am a Newcastle fan. He moved down to London when he married my mum. When my elder brother was born my dad was disgusted when, as he grew old enough to take an interest in football, he chose to support Chelsea as they were our nearest big club. So when I came along he made sure that he didn't let the same thing happen with me.

Some of my fondest memories of him are of the times when we caught the "football special" up for home matches, and when my eldest son was born at Poole hospital, he turned up the next day with a Newcastle babygrow and a little black and white hat for him.

A big regret of mine is that he didn't live long enough to be able to take his grandson to St. James' Park, because he would have loved for the 3 of us to go together.
