Newall leaves is the top not the bottom of the list, the club's smoke and mirrors of the delayed announcement seems to have worked if you can't get the order right, I love the ostrich saying that Newall was a temporary appointment who was going to leave in the summer, according to who, no-one ever said that at the time, he was parachuted into the board as the backer's eyes, you can only say that he was temporary if you knew when he was appointed that the backer was going to pull out this summer, how did you know that when no-one else did AllHell, care to share your source as you seem to know more than anyone else?
I didn't put it in order of importance, but tried(!!) it in a chronological order. You're very good at reading in to things, god we are all ''f****d''. And as for this ''backer has pulled out'' - no one knows. Not one person on any forum - it could be as much that he has sold it on to a gazillionaire for all we know (not that I think that, before someone posts it on FR). I'll share what I know, but what I'm being told is nothing- ''Nothing to be concerned about''. Apparently Newall wasn't very active during his tenure (visually), so not sure what this big fuss is about? I doubt people know anything more than that seeming everything is being held close to their chests. Why don't they come out and make statements? Because they are getting on with the job in hand. I trust it's in hand, and those who are employed are working tirelessly to improve the club - whether it's in youth development, securing contracts or signing players.
I don't need this sort of abusive post,so i will go back to posting on other forums.I am loath to share information on here as i will be accused of making it up.
I want.... I have it from a very very good and reliable source that the Board were expecting the changes this summer and are not at all worried by them. These planned changes includes the removal of Newall so, as he has only been with us for four months, I described his tenure as temporary. Could you confirm your source as to Newall being the 'backers' eyes? I have not seen any official statement as to this? I know CL say it is a fact but I have not seen this confirmed anywhere else, perhaps TS asked him to join as a stop gap measure....who knows other than Newell himself. PS.... I can not remember us discussing Newell when he was appointed as this was not considered important at the time, but it is now considered a portent to our demise? Nobody outside the club knows for sure what's going on but we do know that the club are making offers for players and investing in new staff for next season which suggests that we may not be in such a mess as people are promoting.
AH, I think you have the wrong guy... I've never said anything much about the Newall situation, other than the comment about 10 days.
I must be an ostrich, because I've just become aware of this debate. I must say I find the club's statement that his resignation was "part of a planned restructure" interesting to say the least. Poses more questions than it answers innit?
I know you was being chronological AllHell that was my whole point, it all started with Newall quitting, happened before or at least the same time as Varney, that's why the club sat on it, to keep the ostriches from sussing things out, looks like it worked, shift your facts to start with Newall (ie Cash or whoever) quitting as actually happened and look again...
OK done that ...... now what? Newall leaves.... nobody sure what his role was on the Board, Varney leaves.... to continue his work at Charlton's Community Trust and his consultancy work... a trusted friend to Charlton fans, Prothero joins..... a Senior VP at UMBRO who are part of the multi billion empire that is Nike... not the sort of man who would jump on a sinking ship I would guess? Now, what am I missing?
It looks like Jiminez is getting the boot this week, so the moving of the Sporting game suggests to me at least, so we might be OK after all, problem is all the backstabbing and duck lining up has delayed squad strengthening by a few weeks.
Just a few, Super. Fact: Posting utter b*llocks and wild speculation is a lot more fun and a lot more provocative than supporting the board, the club and the players. Some people have no idea, not a scoobie, of how a modern, high turnover business is run. Many Charlton supporters (including me) have never seen a long-term business plan in operation at the Club - it's scary, it's grown-up - get over it. Lord Lucan has been found white-lining the pitch at Sparrow's Lane. I think that's about it...
I agree with you that it looks like Jiminez may be leaving but my understanding is that the rest of the Board are content with this. I'm not saying they are happy but.... as I understand it... they do not feel this will effect us greatly. It may have delayed a few transfer targets however.
1) It's not scary Tweaks.... it's like a small business plan just bigger numbers.... that's all 2) white-lining you say?....don't let Daniella Westbrook know
All is well in the North West. Peaceful compared to last summer anyway. My flatmate is a Hatter, so I follow him to Edgeley Park when I can't watch my beloved Addicks. For the few years i've known County it's been a tale of woe, but with Gannon in charge they will be on the ascent sooner rather than later
Lovely place to watch football, Salford - I remember the tea ladies serving us sandwiches in the stand before we got thumped 3-0...
had some footballers training on the pitch next to my garden this evening when one shouted to the other (during the post training kick around) "man coming up your arse" .... now then....???... you'd of thought he would have noticed wouldn't you? I'm sure I would have done!
Just something else i'd like to add in Not picking on any posters in particular but these days if you watch Sky Sports News on a continual loop as you can being its a 24/7 channel they will inform the world when David Beckham picks his nose, that Rochdale have the best pies in the country or Walsall are changing the colour of there goalnets. The point is these days social/media outlets will report anything as 'breaking news' no matter how relevent or irrelevent it may be and sadly this brainwashes a lot of people into demanding to be kept in the loop about all the goings on at there football club. Perhaps the OS could have announced Ackworth's banning from this forum? My point is you can only go from the facts and Super think it was listed all the facts and all the rumours perfectly. Directors will resign/leave whatever but usually shock horror...someone comes in to replace them...is it really that important if faceless man A is replaced by faceless man B? All we can go on are facts after all, we can all post rumours and have our sources but as we know from previous experiences "deal is done" proves sources are often sometimes just a load of old heinz.
