I will be very disappointed if anyone gives him any stick! He's entitled to get the best deal he can for the benefit of his family, the fact that he was poorly advised about the best way to go about it is his agents fault, not his! He was naive enough to accept that poor advice, but all's well that ends well! You just remember what he's done for us in the last three years and cheer him on or shut the **** up!
i'm relieved he's staying more than anything. i'm not happy with the way he's handled it though - as i said on another thread, he'll need to hit the ground running next season or some fans may grow a little disillusioned with the guy. overall though, fantastic news, especially butterfield who really does have the potential to take the league by storm.
I think it is probably the best possible news for both the club and Holt from a playing perspective. Whatever people maybe saying he has been a vital part of our team, and while not irreplaceable, it would have been hard work to find a suitable replacement for the price. I also believe his playing career may of suffered if he went elsewhere but I guess we will never know. The whole thing has been poorly handled but hopefully a few goals early next season will settle the fans down. I'm sure his team mates will still support him as they generally seem to all be good mates. Looks like everything has worker out for the best...eventually
Quote from Holt. "I'm really pleased we've agreed things and that I've got a three-year deal which gives me and my family a bit of security. "I do appreciate where the Club was coming from in terms of the process we've gone through to get to this point. Now I'm just really keen to concentrate on getting back to work with the rest of the lads and concentrating on having a good pre-season and getting ready for the start of another season in the Premier League."
I am pleased about GH I guess but what a PR disaster the whole thing has been. Butterfield news is fantastic and full credit to CH for sorting everything out, he has the midas touch at the minute.
Should keep the Hammers and Villa away, if he was worth £6m before he's worth twice that now. Can't wait to see him stuff a hat-trick past Villa and make Lambert pay for deserting the club
I'm told there were several Addenda to Holty's new contract, each of which had to be signed. One was a diet sheet .........
Good God. He's taken off far too much. Won't be able to steamroller defenders now. Best sell him for what we can get.
A message for those Budgies that slagged off Holty over the last few weeks . Hold your heads in SHAME!
