They say she has only a few cuts on her face and are awaiting the results from the scanner. She has spoken to her family and they have been reported to be relieved etc..

    *Translated*
Maria de Villota has spoken with his parents, Emilio and Isabella. They are about to embark for London. Mary has cuts on his face, and confirmed that the coup has been strong, but in principle it is out of danger, pending the outcome of the scanner.

****ing hell!! You have to wonder how she came to be in a position where that accident could happen, why have the loading ramp up at head height like that?

Hope she makes a full recovery. It could've taken her head off. <yikes>

How did she manage to drive into the loading ramp? Did she lose control of the car, or did she just drive into it?

Judging by the eyewitness who said she "suddenly accelerated" she made an error. Apparently she only hit it at about 30mph.

Some of the technical sites and tweeters are saying it may have been the anti stall that caused the surge. I don't think you get in to F1, seven as a tester, and still mix up the brake and accelerator.

From wikipedia(what? People think twitter is reliable...):

"On 3 July 2012, De Villota was involved in a testing accident at Duxford Aerodrome whilst doing straight line tests of the Marussia, in which her car collided with a stationary transporter lorry at the end of a test run. She was removed from the car with life-threatening injuries and taken to hospital.[5] She was reported to be conscious"

Stupid to have it at the end at that height really!

I also have to ask if she was actually qualified to drive an F1 car, because I can't find any information which says she was a successful open-wheel racer... If not, reverse-sexism could have taken a bit of a blow today.

Hope she is alright though, never nice to see someone hurt!

Similar to schumacher luizzi in 2010.
It is a life ender, if she recovers and returns, no joke intended, she has balls of steel.

I don't like the thought of lovely ladies getting hurt in racing cars - odd maybe.
Somehow it is easier to deal with if blokes get hurt.

    Get well soon Maria.

What a terrible incident this was. I join in with others in wishing her a speedy and full recovery. Thankfully, Maria seems to have managed to duck down just enough to avoid the unthinkable…

Since we have no way of knowing the cause of the accident at this stage, I am a little disappointed to see conjecture about who was to blame.

Interesting point of view, and I thought a bit laughable tbh, until I read some more, turns out that she does NOT have a super licence. Although I think I'm right in saying (hopefully Cosi will back it up) that you only need that for racing, anyone can drive an F1 car on an empty track.
