Please join me in celebrating the coup of signing the most talented, young manager in the World that none of us really wanted! :D

Seriously, positivity only on this thread. Lilywhite tinted specs will be handed out on entry if you require :emoticon-0103-cool:

Easy to be positive. Whatever our views - Go AVB! Won't go as far AndresDisciple just yet, but all true Spurs fans will rally around him now and cheer him and the boys to the rafters.

Can't wait to see how this turns out. Like Roy Keane said in his article in the Sun, Spurs paid nothing when only a year ago Chelsea paid over 13m for his services. Good buisness.

It will be very intersting to see whom he can attract in the transfer market.

I'm quietly optimistic with this appointment.

At least he won't fill the squad with average old players looking for a last pay day like HR did (Gallas, Nelsen, Saha, Friedel) and the football his Porto side played was exactly what we like to see at the Lane.

It didn't go well at Chelsea but i bet he learnt a lot from his time and that can only help him at Spurs.

    Welcome AVB !!!

a few weeks back when we had the poll and we had the choice of 5-6 managers, I chose AVB as I felt he'd end up being chosen to be the manager and he was the best "forward move".

I stick by that. It's a risk, but one that could work massively in our favour.

his record at Porto didn't happen for no reason.

Looking forward to the rest of the summer, as we continue to improve the club.!!

To be honest I am just glad we now have someone in, hopefully now we can crack on and get some players signed and lose some of the deadwood.

I remember saying similar things, although it might have been about Martinez rather than AVB. We could have gone "safe" with Moyes (assuming we could get him) or we could have taken a punt at getting to the next level.
I'm happy with a punt, even if it doesn't work. Better than settling for 4th and a dire last 2 months of the season each year

Same. Feels like we've moved into next season now. Hopefully we can get his transfer targets in early and we might just look a bit settled by the first league game.

I think he will have learned his lesson at Chelsea.

There will be alot less conflict in our changing room, more backing from the Chairman, and a nice warm atmosphere in the stadium (so no need for the coat) :cheesy:

Seriously, i think with the players we have, he could start to implement his changes straight away (formation wise) however i'm sure Levy will have pointed out that we did rather well when we were playing 4-4-1-1 (especially at home), so there is something for him to think about.

Also, because he will bring a system of playing, we will be linked with certain types of players, rather than the shotgun aproach the press take to linking people. So far, i'd be happy with all the ones listed:

    Ade
    Joao mutinho (awsome vs Spain)
    Sahin (probs wouldn't come)
French keeper (can't remember his name)
    Dzagoev (Sp?)
    Verthonghan

    all improvements imo

Not super confident but excited. We have to give him time, it might be a rough ride at first. Lets hope he ditches that ****ing raincoat.

Says on our site he's our "Head Coach", does that mean we'll have a DoF.

Looks like Tim Sherwood will become DOF if you are following the rumours

Inevitable news really, but it's still a move that will please the neutral, as it's risky, he plays entertaining football and it adds spice to our games with Chelsea.
I'd have preferred Moyes, but I guess this is quite a Spurs move. Audere est Facere and all that.

Let's hope that our players suit his style of play better than Chelsea's did and that he's allowed enough time to prove himself, one way or the other.
Good luck to him and indeed, us!
