CERN are to make an announcement which most informed people will be proof positive that the Higgs Boson, the so-called God Particle has been proved. The timing of the announcement coincides with the annual international conference on high-energy particle physics.

Special meetings have been arranged at CERN and in Westminster where the 4 surviving physicists who postulated the Higgs will be present, including, of course, Peter Higgs.

THE FUTURE IS BRIGHT. THE FUTURE IS RED......................BELIEVE!!!

I heard howard invited a swiss lady over to see the accelerator and seldon ended up having to scrub the whole thing down and this is why it took so long.

"most informed people will be proof positive that the Higgs Boson"

Well Hawking for one said they'd never find it. Suppose this means Brian Cox will be on telly wistfully whispering (with totally random speech breaks) in the direction of Andromeda.

i reject your postulation zingy and substitute my own.... to not allow RHC to waffle on about the higgs boson and said collider would be tantamount to not allowing RHC to waffle about ANYTHING... and clearly that's a violation of roommate's agreement clause 3a.

3.a. RHC is allowed to bring hope to the dispondant then vanish for a while only to return to say it was the scientist's fault for not running the collider right.

This is by no means waffle, this is 100% genuine serious stuff. But waffle to some of the naive. ;)

I think far too much money and that fourth- dimensional stuff has been spent looking for Mr Higgs' boson.
The daft bastard shouldn't have lost it in the first place.

Hawking's lost the plot. Swarbs agrees with him, so that's proof positive <ok> I meant informed people in the area of high energy particle physics.

Probably right about Brian Cox. I'd sooner have the other Brian Cox who played the original Hannibal Lecter in Manhunter <ok>

He'll be finding a Nobel Prize shortly. And when we win the PL next season, I'll be picking my own up for my theory.
